In one example, an LC assembly comprises: a first curved glass panel, a second curved glass panel, and a liquid crystal panel having a first outer surface and a second outer surface, a layer of a liquid adhesive attaching the first curved glass panel and the first outer surface of the liquid crystal panel, and a film adhesive attaching the second curved glass panel and the second outer surface of the liquid crystal panel.

摘要: A projector includes a beam homogenizer receiving light from a light source and creating a predetermined illumination, and a spatial light modulator including grating stages to receive the predetermined illumination. Each grating stage may include a plurality of pixels where corresponding pixels in the grating stages are aligned with one another. Each of the pixels may include a liquid crystal layer disposed between two substrates, where a pixel is switchable by applying a voltage thereto, with a grating period of the pixel selected such that, when the voltage is applied to the pixel and light is passed therethrough, optical energy from the light in plus and minus first orders is deflected toward sides of the pixel and optical energy from a zero order of the light is allowed to pass through the pixel, with a polarization state of the light maintained through the pixel.

An optical encoder may encode an input vector into a first plurality of optical signals. A photonic processor may receive the first plurality of optical signals; perform a plurality of operations on the first plurality of optical signals, the plurality of operations implementing a matrix multiplication of the input vector by a matrix; and output a second plurality of optical signals representing an output vector. An optical receiver may detect the second plurality of optical signals and output an electrical digital representation of the output vector.

摘要: A near-eye optical display apparatus includes an optical waveguide, an image beam source, and an electrically controlled liquid crystal cell. The image beam source is disposed on one side of a first light incident surface to provide an image beam. After being transmitted through the optical waveguide, the image beam exits from the light-exit surface. The liquid crystal cell is disposed on one side of a second light incident surface, and has a first sight region and a second sight region disposed in a first direction. When a driving voltage is supplied to the liquid crystal cell, the percentage of an average transmittance of the second sight region for an ambient beam and an average transmittance of the first sight region for the ambient beam is less than or equal to 50%. The display contrast of the near-eye optical display apparatus proposed by the invention is not easily affected by the external environment.
