The communication interface is configured to wirelessly communicate with a computing device. The controller is configured to detect a position or movement of a finger along a length of the touch-sensitive retention clip, and send to the computing device, via the communication interface, information based on the position or movement of the finger along the length of the touch-sensitive retention clip.

Abstract: Methods and systems involving resolution of directional ambiguity between a graphical display and a touch-based user-interface are disclosed herein. An example system may be configured to: (a) cause a visual depiction of a first reference marker on a graphical display; (b) receive first input data indicating an initial touch input on a touch-based user-interface, where the initial touch input corresponds to an input-direction path having a first end and a second end, and where the touch input corresponds to movement of the input-direction path; (c) associate movement of the first reference marker with subsequent touch inputs; (d) receive second input data indicating a subsequent touch input; and (e) cause a visual depiction of movement of a second reference marker.

Abstract: The invention relates to the controlling of functions of an information and communication system in a vehicle by means of physical keys. A control unit for an information and communication system of a vehicle is equipped for receiving a sequence of sensor signals of different proximity sensors of corresponding different mechanical function keys, to which corresponding first functions are assigned. The control unit is further equipped for detecting a swiping event over the mechanical function keys, wherein a swiping event comprises the fact that the sequence of sensor signals corresponds to the sensor signals of proximity sensors of corresponding adjacent mechanical function keys. The control unit is further equipped for assigning corresponding second functions to the mechanical function keys when a swiping event is detected.

Abstract: An information handling system includes a tablet computer, which in turn includes a touch sensor, a sensor detector, and a processor. The sensor detector is configured to communicate with the touch sensor, and to detect a first fingerprint on the touch sensor. The processor is configured to communicate with the sensor detector, to determine that the first fingerprint is within a first zone of the touch sensor, to match the first fingerprint to a stored fingerprint for the first zone of the touch sensor, to determine a first input function associated with the first fingerprint based on the first fingerprint matching the stored fingerprint for the first zone, and to execute the first input function.
