摘要: Modulated signal A is transmitted from a first antenna, and modulated signal B is transmitted from a second antenna. As modulated signal B, modulated symbols S2(i) and S2(i+1) obtained from different data are transmitted at time i and time i+1 respectively. In contrast, as modulated signal A, modulated symbols S1(i) and S1(i)′ obtained by changing the signal point arrangement of the same data are transmitted at time i and time i+1 respectively. As a result the reception quality can be changed intentionally at time i and time i+1, and therefore using the demodulation result of modulated signal A of a time when the reception quality is good enables both modulated signals A and B to be demodulated with good error rate performances.

摘要: Embodiments herein relate to a method performed in a transmitting node (12) for transmitting at least one burst of energy to one or more receiving nodes (10,13) in a wireless communication network (1). The transmitting node (12) comprises a number of transmit antennas being more than one and wherein the at least one burst of energy carries a payload for one or more receiving nodes (10,13). The transmitting node (12) determines a shift, for one or more transmit antennas, in one or more signal characteristics of a burst of energy of the at least one burst of energy. The shift indicates one or more additional information bits, in addition to the payload, for a first receiving node (10). The transmitting node further transmits, over the one or more transmit antennas, the burst of energy of the at least one burst of energy with the shift in the signal characteristic carrying the payload to one or more receiving nodes (10,13) in the wireless communication network (1).

摘要: A base station, e.g., for massive MIMO, has channel receivers, each connected to a respective antenna among a plurality of antennas to receive an RF transmission signal generated by a communication device (CD). Each channel receiver has a channel front-end module, which has a first bandwidth and converts the RF transmission signal into one or more first analog baseband signals. The channel receivers are collectively operable to define a spatial beam focus at the CD, based on channel state information of the CD. The base station has pilot signal receivers, each connected to a respective antenna among the plurality of antennas to receive an RF pilot signal generated by theCD or another CD. Each pilot signal receiver has a pilot signal front-end module, which has a second bandwidth that is smaller than the first bandwidth and converts the RF pilot signal into one or more second analog baseband signals.

摘要: Methods and devices are provided for MIMO OFDM transmitter and receivers having odd and/even numbers of transmit antennas. Various methods for pre-coding information bits before space time coding (STC) are described for enabling transmission of information bits over all antennas. Methods of decoding received signals that have been pre-coded and STC coded are also provided by embodiments of the invention. Pilot patterns for downlink and uplink transmission between a base station and one or more wireless terminals for three transmit antenna transmitters are also provided. Variable rate codes are provided that combine various fixed rate codes in a manner that results in codes whose rates are dependent on all the various fixed rate codes that are combined.

摘要: Spatial spreading is performed in a multi-antenna system to randomize an “effective” channel observed by a receiving entity for each transmitted data symbol block. For a MIMO system, at a transmitting entity, data is processed (e.g., encoded, interleaved, and modulated) to obtain ND data symbol blocks to be transmitted in NM transmission spans, where ND≧1 and NM>1. The ND blocks are partitioned into NM data symbol subblocks, one subblock for each transmission span. A steering matrix is selected (e.g., in a deterministic or pseudo-random manner from among a set of L steering matrices, where L>1) for each subblock. Each data symbol subblock is spatially processed with the steering matrix selected for that subblock to obtain transmit symbols, which are further processed and transmitted via NT transmit antennas in one transmission span. The ND data symbol blocks are thus spatially processed with NM steering matrices and observe an ensemble of channels.

摘要: A method and apparatus for increasing the data rate and providing antenna diversity using multiple transmit antennas utilize a set of bits of a digital signal to generate a codeword. Delay elements may be provided in antenna output channels, or, with suitable code construction, delay may be omitted. n signals represent n symbols of a codeword are transmitted with n different transmit antennas. At the receiver, the noisy received sequence is decoded. The parallel transmission and channel coding enables an increase the data rate over previous techniques, and recovery even under fading conditions. The channel coding may be concatenated with error correction codes under appropriate conditions.

Specifically, a method for performing, by a station (STA), uplink (UL) multi-user (MU) transmission in a wireless communication system comprises the steps of: receiving, from an access point (AP), a trigger frame including information for UL MU transmission; and transmitting an UL MU PPDU on the basis of the information for UL MU transmission, wherein the trigger frame is a medium access control (MAC) frame, a MAC header of the trigger frame includes a type field and a subtype field, and the type of the trigger frame may be indicated by the type field and the subtype field.

摘要: Systems and methods described herein provide a system for transmitting data on an MIMO channel using a STBC. The system comprises a wireless transmitter. The wireless transmitter obtains plurality of data symbols to transmit, and performs data padding for the plurality of data symbols based on a non-STBC manner. The wireless transmitter further calculates a number of bits per data symbol after the data padding and pre-codes a data symbol from the plurality of data symbols based on available channel information when the number of data symbols is an odd number. The wireless transmitter generates an STBC based on the pre-coded data symbols, and transmits the generated STBC to the MIMO channel.
