摘要: The technology disclosed herein enables consideration of battery status for an endpoint when configuring a codec for a communication session. In a particular example, a method provides, in an endpoint being powered by a battery, identifying a request to establish a communication session with the endpoint and determining a battery status of the battery. In response to determining the battery status satisfies a low-power criterion, the method provides selecting one or more parameters of a plurality of possible parameters for the communication session that result in lower power usage relative to non-selected parameters of the plurality of possible parameters and establishing the communication session using the one or more parameters.

摘要: The technology described herein relates to implementing an adaptive bitrate (ABR) algorithm at edge nodes. A method for implementing an ABR algorithm at an edge node may include receiving at the edge node a request for a video segment from a client according to the client's ABR algorithm, the request indicating a quality. A weighted sum score for each of a set of qualities may be computed based on a quality score and a fairness score using the ABR algorithm at the edge node, the qualities including at least the requested quality and another quality. A modified request may be generated in response to the weighted sum score for the other quality being better than the weighted sum score for the requested quality. The modified request may be sent to a server. The video segment in the other quality may be received from the server and provided to a client.

摘要: In various examples, the decoding and upscaling capabilities of a client device are analyzed to determine encoding parameters and operations used by a content streaming server to generate encoded video streams. The quality of the upscaled content of the client device may be monitored by the streaming servers such that the encoding parameters may be updated based on the monitored quality. In this way, the encoding operations of one or more streaming servers may be more effectively matched to the decoding and upscaling abilities of one or more client devise such that an increased number of client devices may be served by the streaming servers.

摘要: An apparatus, method, and computer-readable recording medium perform client configuration of a managed device in a wireless network. A client device retrieves capabilities data from an Internet-based cloud server, builds a user interface (UI) based upon the user defined capabilities data and managed service defined capabilities data, sends a data request to the managed device, receives managed device state data from the managed device, sends command to update the managed device, and when the update of the managed device is complete, instructs managed device to send current user defined capabilities data and managed service defined capabilities data to the Internet-based cloud server.
