摘要： A document output apparatus is disclosed which comprises a register for registering a handwritten character as a font; a digitizer for inputting to the apparatus information on a row of characters to be output; a CPU for changing as needed a predetermined pitch between characters and a predetermined pitch between lines which are output parameters; and a reader for reading from the register a font corresponding to the information on a row of characters that the digitizer has input. The CPU outputs the font read by the reader on the basis of the changed output parameters.

摘要： This invention is a platen knob device in a typewriter for releasing a platen of the typewriter from a platen pitch feed mechanism and changing the platen over to a continuous feed. This platen knob device includes a platen variable fixed onto a platen shaft and a platen driver operative in association with the platen pitch feed mechanism and slidably provided on the platen shaft. The platen driver is urged by the platen variable through a spring, whereby the platen driver and the platen variable are engaged with each other, in which condition, if the platen knob is rotated, then the platen is changed over to the pitch feed. If the platen knob is urged in a direction opposite to the direction in which the platen knob is urged by the spring, then the platen driver is urged against an end face of a cylindrical portion of the platen knob to move in the axial direction thereof and separated from the platen variable to change the platen over to the continuous feed.

摘要： A platen variable apparatus is disclosed for rotatably adjusting a platen in step increments and in fine amounts in a typewriter. The apparatus includes an individual hub member rotatably mounted on a platen extension and having teeth thereon intermeshed with teeth of a flexspline fixed on the platen extension. A coarse adjusting member is fixedly coupled on the platen extension for positively rotating the platen in step increments controlled by a detent. A rotatable fine adjusting wheel has an internal wave generator surface that cooperates with the flexspline for moving the flexspline relative to the hub member which adjusts the platen in fine amounts.

摘要： A device is disclosed for index and exponent impression printing in typewriters. An exponent or index switching key has associated with it an edge detector, and parallel thereto, a state detector. A time function element which triggers a gate circuit for the triggering of the drive motor for the roller is connected behind the edge detector. A rotational direction reversal switching device is connected behind the state detector. The device is useful in office typewriters, data printers or telex machines not equipped with their own exponent or index printing symbols.
