Abstract:
A system for providing remote access and control of electronic devices connected to a CEBus network includes a remotely located master node, e.g., a utility server controller, which is linked to the CEBus network via an ATM-based broadband access network ("BAN"). A proxy node is provided on the CEBus network, wherein the proxy node is also linked to the master node via the BAN. The proxy node includes a power monitoring module, which constantly monitors the power supply to the proxy node, e.g., of a residential home at which the proxy node is located. In the case of a power failure, the monitoring module detects the failure and notifies a power outage module. The power outage module generates a power failure alarm message, which is forwarded to the master node in the form of a CEBus link protocol data unit ("LPDU"). In particular, the proxy node packetizes the LPDU alarm message into ATM transmission format for transport to the master node over the BAN. Upon receipt of the LPDU alarm message, the master node notifies the appropriate utility company about the power failure, based on specific identifying information contained in the LPDU alarm message.
The remotely located master node may thereby communicate with one or more devices located on the CEBus network by transmitting messages to the proxy node over the BAN. The proxy node converts the messages from an ATM protocol compatible with transmission over the BAN to a respective CEBus network protocol, and then forwards the messages to recipient device(s) over the CEBus network. In the opposite direction, a device on a CEBus network may communicate with the remotely located master node by transmitting CEBus-standard messages to the respective proxy node over the CEBus network. The proxy node packetizes the messages into an ATM transmission format and forwards the messages to the master node over the BAN. The system may be advantageously employed as an energy management system for providing remote control by a utility host master node of a plurality of utility-managed settable nodes located on a plurality of CEBus networks.
Abstract:
A radiating antenna capable of generating or receiving circularly polarized radiation is disclosed using a single feed and a dielectric resonator. The dielectric resonator has slightly differing dimensions along two axes. Substantially polarized radiation can be generated in each of two mutually orthogonal modes by placement of the probe at each of two locations. When the feed is situated substantially between these two locations, two orthogonal modes are excited simultaneously.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to medical compositions, methods and devices/systems for treating vascular diseases. More particularly, the invention relates to medical methods, devices and kits for distributing drug to surrounding vascular tissue to treat neointimal growth. More specifically, the described invention is intended to overcome shortcomings of existing treatments for peripheral artery disease (PAD). Devices and methods of the present invention are specifically intended to treat patients with PAD involving the infrapopliteal (tibial) arteries, e.g., patients having a clinical indication for treatment below the knees (e.g., claudication and/or critical limb ischemia (CLI), and patients with complex disease states, for reducing one or more of morbidity; treatment complications in treated patient populations, a reduction in target lesion revascularization (TLR) rates; and a reduction in patients populations requiring any type of leg amputation.
Abstract:
The invention comprises a meal manager system/apparatus using an artificial intelligence system trained to create a USDA compliant school breakfast/lunch menu. Optionally, the meal manager separately and/or additionally assesses actual nutrient delivered to the students by assessing, with an intelligent system, waste left on a student tray at time of disposal.
Abstract:
A method for an automated video generation from a set of digital images includes the step of obtaining the set of digital images. The set of digital images represent a specified object to be showcased in an automatically generated video. The method includes the step of implementing pose identification on each view of the specified object in the set of digital images. The method includes the step of implementing a background removal operation to set a consistent background to each digital image. The method includes the step of implementing an image resolution increase operation on each digital image. The method includes the step of implementing an attribute extraction operation on each digital image using a set of image classifiers. The set of image classifiers are run on each digital image to generate one or more textual tags. The one or more textual tags are integrated in the automatically generated video; The method includes the step of implementing an attention map generation. An attention map comprises a visualization of the specified object produced by a deep-learning algorithm that determines a most influential part of each digital image. A predicted tag specifying the most influential part each digital image, where each attention maps is used in the automatically generated video to zoom into specific areas of the object. The method includes the step of implementing an outfit generation of a collage of images of the specified object with other objects, wherein the collage of images is included in the automatically generated video to show various combinations of the specified object and other object. The method includes the step of generating a rendering of the automatically generated video comprising the set of digital images with the consistent background, an increased resolution, the one or more contextual tags, one or more zooms into specified areas a specified object and the collage of images.
Abstract:
In one aspect, a computerized method of computer vision based dynamic universal fashion ontology fashion rating and recommendations includes the step of receiving one or more user-uploaded digital images. The method includes the step of implementing an image classifier on the one or more user-uploaded digital images, to classify a set of user-uploaded fashion content of the one or more user-upload digital images. The method includes the step of receiving a set of fashion rules input by a domain expert. The set of rules determine a set of apparel to match with the set of user-uploaded fashion content, generating a dynamic universal fashion ontology with the image classier and a text classier. The dynamic universal fashion ontology comprises an ontology of set of mutually exclusive attribute classes. The method includes the step of using the dynamic universal fashion ontology to train a specified machine learning based fashion classifications. The method includes the step of using an active learning pipeline to keep the universal fashion ontology up-to-date. The method includes the step of using graphical representation and game theory-based algorithm for outfit generation. The method includes the step of providing an automatic outfit generator, wherein the automatic outfit generator: based on the set of user-uploaded fashion content that is output by the image classifier, matches the set of user-uploaded fashion with a ranked set of apparel suggestions that are based on the set of fashion rules and the specified machine learning based fashion classifications, wherein the automatic outfit generator implements a greedy algorithm to determine the most optimal path in the specified machine learning based fashion classifications to generate each suggested piece of apparel in the ranked set of apparel suggestions. The method includes the step of, based on the highest ranked suggested piece of apparel in the ranked set of apparel suggestions, generating an outfit suggestion. The method includes the step of ranking based on lifestyle parameters including but not limited to weather, brand affinity, brand popularity and novelty of style.
Abstract:
Methods and system perform tool tracking during minimally invasive robotic surgery. Tool states are determined using triangulation techniques or a Bayesian filter from either or both non-endoscopically derived and endoscopically derived tool state information, or from either or both non-visually derived and visually derived tool state information. The non-endoscopically derived tool state information is derived from sensor data provided either by sensors associated with a mechanism for manipulating the tool, or sensors capable of detecting identifiable signals emanating or reflecting from the tool and indicative of its position, or external cameras viewing an end of the tool extending out of the body. The endoscopically derived tool state information is derived from image data provided by an endoscope inserted in the body so as to view the tool.
