Abstract: A thick three-dimensional culture skin sheet is provided. The invention provides a three-dimensional culture skin sheet comprising at least epidermal cells and having concavoconvexities in at least one portion of the base section. The invention further provides a cell culturing vessel to be used for production of the three-dimensional culture skin sheet, having on at least one portion of the culture surface a porous film comprising convex sections for formation of concavoconvexities in the base section of the three-dimensional culture skin sheet. The invention still further provides a method for preparing a three-dimensional culture skin sheet using the cell culturing vessel.

Abstract: An aqueous cosmetic composition provides a proper amount of a hydrophobic spherical powder blended in an aqueous phase stably even though an aqueous base material having a fresh sensation upon use is used, and which corrects the appearance of skin. The present invention provides a cosmetic composition characterized by comprising (A) at least one higher alcohol having a saturated straight alkyl chain, (B) hydrophilic surfactants including a nonionic surfactant, (C) a powder having an average particle diameter of 1 to 30 μm in an amount of 4 to 30% by mass and (D) water, wherein the ratio of the number of moles of a hydrophilic nonionic surfactant to the total number of moles of the hydrophilic surfactants (B) is 0.5 or more, the percentage of the amount of a hydrophobic spherical powder in the total amount of the powder having an average particle diameter of 1 to 30 μm (C) is 50% by mass or more, and the hydrophobic spherical powder is added to an aqueous phase.

Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide an agent for improving skin looseness or aging caused by dermal cavitation. By attracting fat stem cells into cavities in the dermis, dermal fibroblasts around the cavities can be activated and thus dermal cavitation can be ameliorated. As the results of a screening for fat stem cell attractants, it was found that rosemary extract and licorice extract are capable of attracting fat stem cells and, therefore, can improve skin looseness or aging caused by dermal cavitation.

Abstract: The invention provides methods of thickening aqueous compositions without increasing stringiness. The method involves using, as thickeners, polymers of polyacrylic acid, poly(2-acryamide-2-methylpropanesulfonate), or salts thereof, having a weight average molecular weight of 500,000-8,000,000. The polymers contain no more than 10 mass % of polymers having a molecular weight of 10,000,00 or more, and/or contain no more than 10 mass % of polymers having more than three times the weight average molecular weight. Aqueous solutions of these polymers have a low degree of stringiness, and are particularly useful as thickeners for cosmetics.
