Abstract: A carbon fiber bundle is characterized in that a ratio (n/N) of a number n of pairs wherein a flaw of 50 nm in size or more is present on at least one of the fracture surfaces forming the pair to a total number N of pairs of fiber fracture surfaces selected at random after performing a single fiber tensile test for a gauge length of 10 mm is 35% or less, and in that a single-fiber diameter d is 4.3 μm or more.

Abstract: A prepreg includes; sizing agent-coated carbon fibers coated with a sizing agent; and a thermosetting resin composition impregnated into the sizing agent-coated carbon fibers. The sizing agent includes an aliphatic epoxy compound (A) and an aromatic compound (B) at least containing an aromatic epoxy compound (B1). The thermosetting resin composition includes a thermosetting resin (D) and a latent hardener (E), and optionally includes an additive (F) other than the thermosetting resin (D) and the latent hardener (E). The (a)/(b) ratio is within a predetermined range where (a) is the height of a component at a binding energy assigned to CHx, C—C, and C═C and (b) is the height of a component at a binding energy assigned to C—O in a C1s core spectrum of the surfaces of the sizing agent-coated carbon fibers analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

Abstract: A carbon fiber production method includes a carbon fiber production step including an oxidation step and a carbonization step; and an exhaust gas processing step including a heat exchange step; an external air mixing step; and a mixed external air supplying step in which the mixed external air is supplied to at least one step that uses heated gas in the steps in the carbon fiber production step; and among the exhaust gases, a high heating value exhaust gas having a heating value of 250 kcal/Nm3 or higher is supplied to an inlet side of an exhaust gas combustion apparatus and a low heating value exhaust gas having a heating value lower than 150 kcal/Nm3 is supplied to an outlet side of the exhaust gas combustion apparatus, respectively.

Abstract: It is possible to detect, with high accuracy, whether a structure is a good product or a defective product. This inspection apparatus for a structure comprises: X-ray emitting means (1a, 1b) for emitting X-rays through two or more paths; one or more X-ray detection means (3) for detecting the X-rays passing through the a structure (2); a multiple position distance measurement means (4) for measuring the distance from the X-ray emitting means to the structure at a plurality of positions; and an image processing means (5). The image processing means includes: a defective candidate detection means for detecting a defective candidate in two or more images acquired by the X-ray detection means; a height measurement means; an image calculation means for logically multiplying an image, on which height position information obtained by the height measurement means is recorded, by a defective candidate image obtained by the defective candidate detection means; an inspection range setting means for setting an inspection range from the distance and the thickness of the structure; and a defect determination means for determining that there is a defect when the inspection range includes the defective candidate.

Abstract: An esophageal liquid-supply catheter is capable of reducing the temperature transmission to the esophagus due to heating, cooling or the like by ablation, by efficiently delivering a liquid to the esophagus is disclosed. The esophageal liquid-supply catheter contains a tubular member, a plurality of arms with the proximal ends fixed to the distal end of the tubular member, and a distal end tip fixed to the distal end of the arms, wherein the plurality of arms can be deformed and expanded outward in the radial direction of the tubular member. A shaft may be inserted through the tubular member and fixed on the distal end to the distal end tip, and the arms can be expanded outward in the radial direction when the shaft is slid toward the proximal end side relative to the tubular member.
