Abstract: One implementation of the present disclosure is a negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) system, according to some embodiments. In some embodiments, the system includes an instillation system configured to provide instillation fluid to a wound site, and a controller. In some embodiments, the wound site includes a wound and a wound dressing. In some embodiments, the controller is configured to provide a first quantity of instillation fluid for a first instillation cycle. In some embodiments, the controller is configured to determine a second quantity of instillation fluid for a second instillation cycle based on the first quantity and a reduction factor. In some embodiments, the second quantity of instillation fluid is less than the first quantity of instillation fluid. In some embodiments, the controller is configured to adjust an operation of the instillation system to provide the second quantity of instillation fluid to the wound site.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing negative pressure to a tissue site are disclosed. Illustrative embodiments may include an apparatus or system for delivering negative-pressure to a tissue site, which can be used in conjunction with low-profile distribution components for wound therapy. Such apparatus may include a low-profile dressing interface or connector comprising at least two fluid pathways fluidly coupled to a recessed space of the connector, one for providing negative pressure to a tissue interface or manifold and the other for sensing the negative pressure within the recessed space adjacent the tissue interface. In some embodiments, a pressure-offloading layer may be disposed against at least one of the fluid pathways. The pressure-offloading layer may comprise a polymeric foam to distribute compressive forces being applied to the dressing interface, thereby enhancing resistance of the fluid pathways to collapsing and blockage when the dressing interface is subject to external compression. In some embodiments, two pressure-offloading layers may be utilized.

Abstract: This disclosure includes wound dressings and systems with high-flow therapeutic gas sources for topical wound therapy and related methods. Some dressings, which are configured to be coupled to tissue to facilitate delivery of therapeutic gas to the tissue, comprise a manifold that defines a plurality of gas passageways, the manifold configured to allow communication of therapeutic gas to the tissue; and a gas-occlusive layer configured to be disposed over the manifold and coupled to the tissue such that an interior volume containing the manifold is defined between the gas-occlusive layer and the tissue and the gas-occlusive layer limits escape of therapeutic gas from the interior volume; wherein the gas-occlusive layer includes: a first opening configured to allow communication of therapeutic gas into the interior volume; and one or more second openings configured to allow communication of therapeutic gas out of the interior volume.

Abstract: A dressing for treating a tissue site, particularly an abdominal or peritoneal site, is disclosed. In some embodiments, the dressing may comprise a tissue interface formed from a first layer of a liquid-impermeable material and a plurality of manifolding bubbles formed as part of the first layer. In some embodiments, the tissue interface may further comprise a second layer of a permeable material, where the manifolding bubbles are formed as closed cells between the first layer and the second layer. The tissue interface may also include a third layer of liquid-impermeable material positioned adjacent to the second layer, where one or more fluid passageways may be formed between the second layer and third layer for delivering a therapeutic fluid to the tissue site.

Abstract: Dressings for closing an opening through a surface of a tissue site are described. The dressing includes a cover adapted to form a sealed space over the opening and a bolster. The bolster is adapted to be positioned adjacent the opening and includes a first plurality of holes. The holes have an average width to length ratio causing the plurality of holes to collapse in a direction substantially perpendicular to the opening. Systems, apparatuses, kits and methods including and/or using the dressing for closing the opening are also described.
