    摘要: A lounger-type air manager comprises a lounger body (1) including a seat portion (2) and a backrest portion (3) provided on the rear end of the seat portion, bags (4, 5, 10) provided in the seat portion and the backrest portion and adapted to inflate and deflate when compressed air is fed thereinto and discharged therefrom, and a compressed air control device (11) for controlling the feed and discharge of the compressed air into and from the bags. The bag in the seat portion is fixed at its rear edge portion on the backrest side to the seat portion, and the bag in the backrest portion is fixed at its upper end portion to the backrest portion. The compressed air control device (50, 50', 50", 50'") changes the charging time or exhaust time for the compressed air, the capacity of each bag, or the flow resistance of a charging/exhaust pipe for each bag so as to make the bag (35, 39) among the bags, which is subjected to a heavier load from the body weight of a person seated on the lounger body (30) than the other bag (34, 36a, 36b, 37a, 37b, 38a, 38b, 41a, 41b, 42a, 42b), has the same inflation as the inflation of the other bag after the feed of the compressed air into those bags is finished.

    摘要: A device for distributing an optical signal has an optical waveguide with a plurality of gratings disposed in series therein, the gratings having a predetermined reflectivity response within a specific wavelength range; an optical circulator having at least three ports, one of the ports serving as an input port for receiving the optical signal, and another port for removing at least a part of the optical signal reflected from one of the gratings; and control means for individually controlling at least some of the gratings to effect a change of the wavelength range of the reflectivity response of the gratings. The change may be a shift, an expansion or a compression of the range. The device can function as a signal distributor (router), an equalizer or a demultiplexer. The reflectivity response is preferably a sloped response.

    摘要: A tubular porous silica preform is made by depositing particulate silica on a mandrel from which the preform is subsequently removed. A solid cylindrical porous silica preform is made by depositing particulate silica on an end surface of a support body. The porous preforms are then dried and the tubular preform is heated in a fluorine containing atmosphere to introduce a fluorine dopant into the silica. The rod preform is then placed inside the tubular preform and the two preforms are further dried in a chlorine atmosphere to remove residual moisture. The dual preforms are then heated in a zone sintering furnace to consolidate and collapse the porous material of the rod and tubular preforms into a transparent fused silica rod. The composite preform obtained is heated and dielectric optical waveguide drawn from it, the waveguide having a pure silica or doped silica core derived from the rod preform and a fluorine doped silica cladding derived from the tubular preform.

    摘要: A constant discharge device for a pneumatic conveyor for powdery or granular materials includes a discharge regulator valve disposed in a pressure tank that stores the powdery or granular material and movable toward or away from a discharge nozzle which has an open end through which the material is discharged out of the pressure tank into a conveyor pipe. The discharge regulator valve has an air outlet for ejecting a stream of air toward the discharge nozzle. The amount of the material as discharged into the conveyor pipe can be controlled by adjusting the position of the discharge regulator valve with respect to the discharge nozzle, and also by adjusting the rate of flow of air through the outlet of the discharge regulator valve.
