Abstract:
A device for inverting hollow bodies gripped by the neck, characterized in that it includes a series of gripper mounted at the periphery of a rotary wheel and each of which is adapted to grip a hollow body by the neck, and each gripper is mounted on a wheel so as to be tilted between a first and a second position, and each gripper is designed to grip the neck of the hollow body at two substantially opposite points on either side of the neck axis, and the gripper is designed to cause the neck of the hollow body to be engaged in the gripper by one side of the gripper and to be released by the other side of the gripper, with substantially radial movements relative to the neck axis.
Abstract:
A conveyor suitable for conveying objects along a transport direction, and a related link are disclosed. The link may include a link body having a length extending across the direction of transport and a width extending along the direction of transport, each link body having a conveying surface. At least one gripping member is movably secured to the link body and has a gripping arm extendable from the conveying surface of the link body. Each gripping member is moveable between a first opened position and a second gripping position. The gripping arm is located so as to be able to contact one of the objects when the gripping member is in the second position to hold the object relative to the link body during transport. Various options for link designs are disclosed, including slidable and/or pivotable designs.
Abstract:
A conveyor suitable for conveying objects along a transport direction, and related links, are disclosed. The conveyor includes a plurality of connected links, each link having a length extending across the direction of transport and a width extending along the direction of transport. Each link also has a body, a cam follower member, and at least one gripping member. A gear drive mechanism may be used to interconnect the cam follower member and the gripping member. The cam follower member is movable to selectively move the gripping member between a first position and a second position. The gripping member when in first position is disposed in an open position, and the gripping member when in the second position is disposed in a gripping position for contacting one of the objects to hold the object during transport. Gear-drive mechanisms of various designs may be used to interconnect the cam follower member and gripping member. A releasable holding member, such as a spring-loaded ratchet member, may be used to secure the gripping member in the second position. Multiple opposed gripping members may be used. Various modifications and options are possible.
Abstract:
A device (1) for conveying objects (2) having at least one open end (200) (for example plastic bottles and corresponding semi-finished products throughout their production process), comprising picking-up means (20) suitable for gripping and withholding the object from inside the open end (200), and further comprising a protective sliding sleeve (7, 70) suitable for covering and protecting a pre-determined portion of the object (2) in the proximity of the open end (200) is characterised in that the actuation for picking up or releasing the object (2) by the picking-up and withholding means (20) is independent of the movements of sliding of the sleeve (7, 70), which can be raised or lowered, the object (2) at the same time continuing to be firmily gripped. The device is suitable to be used on a chain conveyor. Also described herein is a method for the use of said device (1).
Abstract:
Apparatus for conveying articles, particularly articles such as containers, or bottles, having a neck portion with a neck ring thereon, along an article conveying path with the articles being urged along the article conveying path by article engaging members extending from a plurality of sections of an elongated movable member that extends along a second path adjacent and horizontally offset from the article conveying path. The elongated movable member is preferably a chain having a plurality of links each with a body portion and vertically spaced end portions shaped such that the links are connectable to one another in a manner enabling limited angular deviation of the chain during normal operation, and article engagement preferably includes a flange that extends horizontally from the lower end of each chain link into the article conveying path to engage the lower edge of the neck ring of articles in the article conveying path so that the articles are urged along the article conveying path upon movement of the chain unit along the second path.
Abstract:
The conveying method comprises a flying takeover of containers (1) being fed into a takeover area (U.1) in a container stream, hanging conveyance of the containers along a conveying path (FS) with a freely selectable course and delivery of the containers in a delivery area (U.2). For taking over the containers, a sequence of individual and equidistant holding means (5) is supplied to the takeover area (U.1) along a descending curved path (7′) joining a container feeding path (8) tangentially at the end of the takeover area (U.1) and the holding means (5) are introduced into the container stream each between two containers (1). At the beginning of this introduction, the holding means have a speed (v′) greater than the container speed (v) and during introduction they are decelerated to the container speed (v). Thereby, the feeding of containers and holding means is matched such that each holding means (5) reaches the container feeding speed (v) when it encircles the container downstream, i.e. when it is in an at least potential holding position relative to this container. At the latest in the delivery area, the holding means are turned by 180° around a vertical axis such that for delivery the containers to a container removing means (11), the holding means (5) can be conveyed away along an upward curved path. The curved path of the holding means in the takeover area (U.1) and/or in the delivery area (U.2) may also be realized by individual pivoting of the holding means (5).
Abstract:
The apparatus comprises a cylinder housing a rotary scroll Tubular preforms are fed into the cylinder in an upright state and displaced along the cylinder by a fin of the scroll. An upstream cam engages each preform in turn and inverts it. The inverted preforms are then driven over a series of nozzles discharging ionized gas to purge the preforms of debris. The preforms are then reinverted by a downstream cam and/or discharged.
Abstract:
The device belongs to the category of transporting devices and refers to a transporter for containers possessing protruding collars and moved by means of suspension from the neck in which pulling elements are connected with driving elements in such a way that the active marginal extremity of the said pulling elements on which the protruding collars of the container rests in order to be pulled along, whose motion describes a path which is substantially identical even in curved sections, to that described by the driving elements, having substantially the same curvature and moving through a movement plain different from that of the driving elements.
Abstract:
A conveyor system for conveying an article has an upper portion and a lower portion below the upper portion. The conveyor system comprises a guide mechanism configured for engaging the upper portion of the article in a manner so that the article is suspended from the guide mechanism. The guide mechanism is further configured for guiding the article in its suspended orientation along a conveyor pathway defined by the guide mechanism, the conveyor pathway having a lateral curve. The conveyor system further includes at least one air nozzle for connection to a source of pressurized air. The air nozzle is oriented for directing a stream of air in a direction generally adjacent the lateral curve and in a manner such that the stream of air blows against the lower portion of the article when the article is moving along the lateral curve of the conveyor pathway to counter inertial forces which tend to cause the article to deviate from the conveyor pathway.
Abstract:
An apparatus and process for coating an article utilizes a chuck to grip the bottleneck. The chuck includes spring fingers which are positioned to engage the bottleneck at equally spaced locations and which are shaped to fit a recess in the bottleneck so as to hold the bottle in place. The chuck includes a nose which fits inside the bottleneck to center the bottle, and the spring fingers are carried by a collar that can slide up and down to bring the spring fingers into or out of engagement with the bottle. Each of the spring fingers is part of a U-shaped spring member, and another part of each spring member holds a sleeve in place which surrounds the spring fingers and the top of the bottle. The sleeve protects the neck of the bottle from unintentional spray coating.
