Abstract:
The present invention provides an image shooting apparatus capable of accurately connecting split images while avoiding increase in the size of the apparatus. The stop positions of an image forming portion 10 is detected on the order equal to the pixel pitch, the shift amounts of the shot split images are obtained from the shift amounts of the stop positions of the image forming portion 10, and for each split image, the address is converted to a normal address based on the shift amount.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for setting and repeatably and reliably maintaining a desired image resolution. The invention features an optical, image acquiring device and a pair of light sources, the beams from which are caused to converge at a distance from the optical device which provides the desired resolution. Subsequently, positioning the optical device with the point of convergence of the beams on the surface of an object being imaged ensures the desired resolution. In preferred embodiments, the plane yielding the desired resolution is caused to be coincident with the plane of optimal focus.
Abstract:
An image pickup apparatus includes a video camera shooting a material placed on a stage to obtain an image signal delivered to an external reproducing equipment and a column for supporting the video camera so that the video camera is located over a central portion of the stage. The column is formed into a vertical two-stage structure including an upper column and a lower column. The video camera is located over the central portion of the stage when the lower column is rotated to stand and the upper column is extended straightforward from the lower column. The upper column is rotated so as to be folded at right angles to the lower column when an object in the rear of the stage is shot by the video camera. When the apparatus is folded, the lower column is brought down to lie along the stage and the upper column is folded relative to the lower column.
Abstract:
A digital camera capable of enhancing utilization of an image shot in a text shooting mode is provided. An image processing unit converts an image shot in the text shooting mode to a data format appropriate to a transmission destination (a facsimile machine, a personal computer, etc.) selected by a user.
Abstract:
An image scanner capable of detecting the center of a valid image reading range is disclosed. To accurately detect the center position of a mirror, a center mark is positioned outside of the valid image reading range in parallel to the axis of rotation of the mirror. The center mark is input together with an image.
Abstract:
There is provided an image scanner including (a) an image sensor, (b) a lens for focusing images onto the image sensor, (c) a reflecting mirror for directing images of an object to the image sensor through the lens, and (d) a driver for rotating the reflecting mirror. The reflecting mirror has a first width located closer to the lens and a second width located remoter from the lens than the first width, both of the first and second widths extending in parallel with the image sensor. The first width is designed to be smaller than the second width. The reflecting mirror is preferably trapezoidal. The driver is within a difference between the first and second widths so that the driver does not exist beyond the second width of the reflecting mirror. Since the driver is arranged not to exist beyond a width of the reflecting mirror, it is possible to make the image sensor smaller in a size as a whole.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an optical guide fixture for coupling visual information on a surface to a viewer. The optical guide fixture of the invention can be coupled to an optical receiver, such as a digital camera, operably connected to a head-mounted display unit to provide a device according to the invention for viewing a surface. Such a device, in one application, provides magnified images of visual information on a surface, such as a page of a book, to a patient with a visual impairment.
Abstract:
An image input apparatus is provided for picking up an image of an object placed on an original support with a camera and displaying the object image on a display device, the apparatus has a memory capable of storing a plurality of images picked up with the camera and a controller for controlling display of an image group containing a predetermined number of images stored in the memory.
Abstract:
A scan module for a document copying machine which is provided with its own document scanner. The scan module is provided with a housing suitable for releasable fixing to the document copying machine, the housing being provided with a light exit opening optically coupled to the document scanner of the document copier machine via the image platen. The scan module is also provided with a light source and reflector.
Abstract:
There is provided an image input apparatus which can quickly and easily move a camera head to an intended position, can adequately adjust the position of the camera head, can improve operability in the document photographing mode, and is easy to carry. The image input apparatus has a camera head, support members coupled via a plurality of joint portions to support the camera head, and a base for supporting the proximal end side of the support members. When an image is input by the camera head, the camera head can be held at a predetermined position and posture by each of the plurality of joint portions. A pivot support mechanism arranged between a camera unit and a support portion has a fist support member having two opposing projections, a second support member arranged between the projections, a pair of clamping members arranged to clamp the projections between the second support member and themselves, and a torque generation mechanism for generating a torque between the second support member, the clamping members, and the projections. A pivot support mechanism arranged between a support portion and a base has a first support member having two opposing projections, a second support member, and has two end portions respectively engaging with the two projections and a coupling portion for coupling these two end portions, and a torque generation mechanism arranged between the first and second support members. An opening portion through which the cable extends is formed on the coupling portion.
