A remote control device with excellent, convenience, operability, and affinity, which can be intuitively operated and does not require much time to learn its operation, is provided. The remote control device comprises an optical reading unit for reading an optically readable dot pattern, a main body that is connected to the optical reading unit and can be held by gripping or just like holding a pen, a converter equipped inside the main body, for analyzing a dot code and/or a coordinate value from a dot pattern read out by the optical reading unit; and converting into one or two or more corresponding transmission codes, an operation unit, equipped at the other end of the main body on the opposite side to the optical reading unit, operable at least in longitudinal and lateral directions, and a transmission unit, equipped at a predetermined position of the main body, for outputting a transmission code converted by the converter and an operation instruction attributable to the operation unit and an operation instruction attributable to another button as a signal to the control-subject apparatus.

A storage device comprises a host interface, a cache memory interface, a hard disk interface, a flash memory interface, a command analyzing section which analyzes the contents of a command inputted from the host interface, a state determining section which determines into which of the cache memory and flash memory data can be written faster based on the relationship between the write data size and the free space of the cache memory if the command analyzed in the command analyzing section is a write command, and a media selecting section which determines a data write destination according to the determination result of the state determining section.

A data transfer system includes: a shared resource accessed from one or more devices; a plurality of request generation units each configured to generate a request for the device to access the shared resource, and output a remaining time value indicating how much time remains until the request is accepted before affecting an operation of an apparatus including the controller; and an arbitration unit configured to compare the remaining time values when the plurality of requests and the remaining time values are inputted from the plurality of request generation units, and give an access right to access the shared resource to a request with less remaining time.

In the method and device, a restriction is applied so as not to enable an additional recording on the recording medium at the time when a number of the recording units recorded on the recording medium has reached the maximum number of recording units and recording of up to a first sub-recording unit within the last recording unit has been performed. Thus, it becomes possible to prevent occurrence of a situation, which is difficult for a user to understand, e.g. the situation where the remaining capacity for recording suddenly disappears owing to e.g. change in recording mode when recording on the recording medium is performed with a recording device.

It is intended to provide eyedrops which have an ocular tension-lowering effect and a hypotensive effect based on novel function mechanisms. The above-described eyedrops contain a muscle relaxant as the active ingredient and dantrolene sodium is preferably usable as the muscle relaxant employed as the active ingredient. The eyedrops lower the ocular tension via the relaxation of the extraocular muscle tension and lower the blood pressure via the relaxation of the sympathetic nerve tension, thereby exhibiting the ocular tension-lowering effect and the hypotensive effect.

A process control method comprises adjusting a process condition in consideration of a performance variation among a plurality of manufacturing apparatuses, the performance variation affecting a finished shape of a pattern used to manufacture a semiconductor device, running a simulation of the finished shape under the adjusted process condition, extracting a dangerous point of the pattern affecting satisfaction from the result of the simulation, comparing a first process capability serving as a judgment standard to find whether a production schedule of the device is achieved with a second capability serving to form a dangerous pattern containing the dangerous point, and improving the second process when the second process capability is lower than the first process capability.
