Abstract: Embodiments include balancing modules during charging of a mixed chemistry battery pack having a first battery module connected in series to a second battery module. Aspects include monitoring a first state-of-charge (SOC) of the first battery module having a first battery chemistry and monitoring a second SOC of the second battery module having a second battery chemistry. Aspects also include selectively activating one of a first bypass switch and a first activation switch of the first battery module based on the first SOC and the second SOC and selectively activating one of a second bypass switch and a second activation switch of the second battery module based on the first SOC and the second SOC. The activation of the first bypass switch prevents the first battery module from charging and activation of the second bypass switch prevents the second battery module from charging.

Abstract: A method for fabricating a composite panel comprising stitching a plurality of first continuous reinforcing fibers in N first zones and M second zones of a backing substrate of a preform. The N first zones are arranged near C corners of the composite panel, where C is an integer. The plurality of first continuous reinforcing fibers in the N first zones is arranged radially relative to the C corners. At least one of a fiber density of the plurality of first continuous reinforcing fibers in the N first zones that is less than a fiber density of the plurality of first continuous reinforcing fibers in the M second zones, and a stitch density of the plurality of first continuous reinforcing fibers in the N first zones that is less than a stitch density of the plurality of first continuous reinforcing fibers in the M second zones.

Abstract: An advertisement system includes a tuner, an error detection and correction circuit, a decoder, and an output device. The tuner is operational to listen on a first channel of a plurality of channels for a first received packet during a current scan window. The error detection and correction circuit is operational to command the tuner to listen on a second channel of the plurality of channels within the current scan window for a second received packet in response to (i) an incomplete reception of the first received packet or (ii) the first received packet having uncorrectable errors, and correct the first received packet to create a first advertisement packet in response to the first received packet being received and correctable. The decoder is operational to decode the first advertisement packet to generate first advertisement information. The output device is operational to present the first advertisement information as first advertisement data.

Abstract: A method for inducing a vehicle occupant to bring a vehicle to a stop includes receiving malfunction data. The malfunction data is indicative of an impending vehicular malfunction will occur in a vehicle; determining that the impending vehicular malfunction will occur using the malfunction data. The method also includes determining that the vehicle is capable of operating without hazards for a predetermined amount of time in response to determining that the impending vehicular malfunction will occur. Further, the method includes commanding an actuator of the vehicle to provide a sensory feedback to the vehicle occupant to induce the vehicle occupant to stop the vehicle in response to determining that the impending vehicular malfunction will occur and determining that the vehicle is capable of operating without hazards for a predetermined amount of time.

The method includes creating at least one of a dispersion, a gel, a solution, a paste, and a dough including the at least one of the technical fibers, the elementary fibers, the meso fibrils and the micro fibrils; and spinning filaments of the at least one of fibers and yarn using the at least one of the dispersion, the gel, the solution, the paste, and the dough.
