Abstract: A vertical pivoting gate operator for positioning a gate between an open position and a closed position is provided. The gate operator includes a motor drive assembly including a motor and a linkage assembly mechanically connecting a motor output to the gate such that in response to actuation of the motor, the linkage assembly transmits an opening force to positioning the gate toward the open position, and a closing force, for positioning the gate toward the closed position. A counterbalance assembly including a biasing member is operable to release stored energy against an input link to rotate a gate arm shaft so as to urge the gate toward the open position and to increase stored energy in response to rotation of the gate traveling toward the closed position to act against the gate as it approaches the closed position.

Abstract: A movement damping device travels along a fixed track on roller wheels. Trolleys mounted on the roller wheels support the door along the track for movement of the door. Eddy-current interaction occurs between travelling magnets mounted on the device and fixed side plates of the track. The trolley moves horizontally as the roller wheels travel along horizontal support rails of the track. The track would be fixed to a supporting host structure and opposing side plates of the track support the respective rails. The trolley travels between the side plates when the door moves. The relative motion between the magnets and the side plates causes eddy-currents in the conducting side plates and consequent motion resistance

Abstract: An apparatus comprises a base plate configured to be coupled to a door, the door configured to be positioned in an open position and a closed position; a closing mechanism coupled to the base plate and configured to be coupled to a hinge of the door and having an unprimed state and a primed state, the closing mechanism configured to be transitioned between the unprimed state and the primed state by a user; wherein in the unprimed state the closing mechanism is decoupled from operation of the door; and in the primed state the closing mechanism is configured to move the door into the closed position responsive to receipt of a signal, and the closing mechanism is configured to allow movement of the door between the open position and the closed position in absence of the signal.

Abstract: Removable roofing system comprising a motor inserted inside a drum (2), a cord, a compensation device (4), two rigging rails (5a, 5b), at least one guide arch (6a) and removable roofing, the at least one guide arch (6a) being connected to the cord and to the removable roofing, and being designed so that each of its ends slides in a rigging rail (5a, 5b), the cord passing along each rigging rail (5a, 5b) and through the compensation device (4) and being connected at its two ends to the drum (2) so that the rotating of the drum (2) by the motor causes the cord to move in a direction dependent on the direction of rotation of the drum (2), deploying or retracting the removable roofing by moving the at least one guide arch (6a), each rigging rail (5a, 5b) being equipped with at least one end pulley (21a, 21b) and with at least two corner-block deflecting pulleys (20a, 20b, 23a, 23b) which are designed to guide the cord from the compensation device towards the at least one end pulley (21a, 21b), and the compensation device (4) is designed to automatically compensate for variations in cord tension.

Abstract: An emergency door closing device that can be installed upon existing doors and hinges to automatically close doors in the response to smoke and fire. The improvements incorporated therein include a hinge cam pivot member that attaches to an existing hinge member of a door and produces a moment force about the existing hinge member allowing a reduced force necessary to pivot the door into a closed position. Further, a novel spring, cam, and lever system is incorporated to activate the moment force to close the door.
