Abstract:
Provided are an optical filter for reducing duplicated images and a plasma display panel employing the same. The optical filter includes a transparent substrate, a selective absorption layer deposited on a surface of the transparent substrate, an anti-reflection layer deposited on the selective absorption layer, an electromagnetic wave shield layer deposited on the other surface of the transparent substrate, and a duplicated image reducing layer deposited on the electromagnetic wave shield layer. When using the optical filter, external reflection and duplicated images can be reduced, thereby improving visual agreement and picture quality.
Abstract:
An image-forming apparatus with good yield and high reliability is provided by devising and improving the shape of a supporting member. Therefore, a flat type image-forming apparatus has at least a rear plate, a face plate arranged oppositely to the rear plate, and a supporting member arranged between the rear plate and the face plate and holding the distance between the rear plate and the face plate in an outer circumferential edge portion. In this flat type image-forming apparatus, the shape of a nook portion of the supporting member is set to an arc shape on the inner or outer side of a container.
Abstract:
A plasma display panel and the manufacturing method thereof. Forming partition wall structures on the back substrate of the paste display panel and forming the column-shaped protrusions at the positions corresponding to the cuts on the rib on the front substrate of the plasma display panel. The manufacturing process is simple and the alignment of the front and back substrate is easy. In addition, the size of the opening of the rib and the size of the cut can be easily adjusted according to the needs of the application during the manufacturing process.

Abstract:
The object of the present invention is to provide a flat-panel-display substrate which is high in heat resistance, of which the coefficient of thermal expansion is approximated to that of a thick film dielectric layer, which is low at high temperatures in reactivity with the lead-doped thick film dielectric layer, and which can be made to have a large area. The substrate of the present invention is obtained by sintering a body comprising glass powder and a filler made of metal and/or semi-metal oxide, and is constituted by the sintered body and whose average coefficient of linear thermal expansion is from 7 to 9.5 ppm/° C. in the temperature range of 25 to 700° C. The glass powder includes alkaline-earth oxide, 15 to 50% by weight of silicon oxide, and no greater than 2% by weight of boron oxide. Furthermore, the filler is at a concentration of 10 to 30% by volume of the total amount of the glass powder and the filler in the mould.
Abstract:
A manufacturing method for a gas discharge panel according to the invention can reduce the amount of water and gaseous molecules, which are absorbed into the first and the second substrates, to a minimum by keeping the both substrates under a reduced pressure, and therefore can prevent a degradation of a discharge gas filling the finished panel. As a result, problems in the finished panel such as increase in a discharge starting voltage and generation of an abnormal discharge can be suppressed.
Abstract:
An image display device is disclosed including a metallic support plate carrying, on its front face, a plasma discharge display with an array of adjacent pairs of electrodes and, on its back face, a power supply. The power supply circuit of each pair of adjacent electrodes forms a current loop starting from the power supply and passing through the electrode then the electrode of the pair, the connection end of the electrode being linked to the power supply by means of a transverse electrical conductor placed on the front side of said metallic plate. According to the invention, the transverse conductor linked to the electrode forms a non-zero angle with said pair of electrodes. The differences in inductance between the various current loops of the display are thus reduced such that the differences in luminance between the various discharge regions of the plasma display are reduced.
Abstract:

Also included are methods of filtering plasma display panel radiation and plasma display panel devices utilizing plasma display panel filters of the present invention.
Abstract:
A display device has an emitting region constituted by a plurality of first electrodes provided on a substrate and extending in parallel, a plurality of second electrodes provided on the first electrodes and extending substantially perpendicularly to the first electrodes, and a plurality of emission sites for emitting electrons or light respectively connected to a plurality of intersections between the first and second electrodes and arranged on the substrate and has a peripheral region surrounding the emitting region on the substrate. In this display device, first and second groups of external repeating terminals for the first and second electrodes are collectively provided side by side in a part of the peripheral region.
