    Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which a processing system coupled to a communication network identifies, based on base station unit (BSU) performance measurements and network key performance indicator (KPI) measurements, a set of BSUs experiencing interference. The method further includes selecting BSUs from the identified set that are to be provided with an auxiliary antenna array; and computing, for each BSU in the identified set, parameters to be used by modules of the BSU that are local to the BSU and configured to perform interference detection, interference estimation, and/or interference cancellation; the computed parameters are used in a reconfiguration procedure for the modules of the BSU. Other embodiments are disclosed.

    Abstract: The concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed detecting and mitigating drive-by home WI-FI hijack attacks. According to one aspect, a war driving activity correlation system can obtain a report from a home gateway system. The report can identify a suspicious device attempting to connect to a WI-FI network provided, at least in part, by the home gateway system. The war driving activity correlation system can determine, based upon the report, a route of an attacker who uses the suspicious device. The war driving activity correlation system can send instructions to the home gateway system. The instructions can include the route and can specify one or more mitigation actions to be performed by the home gateway system, such as blacklisting a media access control address associated with the suspicious device. The mitigation action(s) can be based upon one or more policies.

    Abstract: A flexible service-based architecture (SBA) for next generation communication networks is described. In an embodiment, a method performed by a system comprising a processor comprises receiving a service request for provision of a data communication service to a communication device via a communication network comprising a plurality of different network resources defined by resource components and sub-components of the resource components. In response to receiving the service request, accessing network resource abstraction information that identifies the resource components, and the sub-components respectively associated with the resource components, and selecting a subset of the different network resources for the provision of the data communication service to the communication device based a service criterion associated with the data communication service. The method further comprises facilitating, by the system, the provision of the data communication service to the communication device via the communication network using the subset of the different network resources.

    Abstract: A distributed denial of service (“DDoS”) attack profiler can determine a plurality of DDoS attack properties associated with a DDoS attack that utilizes an Internet of Things (“IoT”) device operating in communication with a home gateway. The DDoS attack profiler can create a DDoS attack profile and can provide a DDoS attack report based upon the DDoS attack profile to a correlator. An IoT device profiler can determine a plurality of IoT device properties and can create, based upon the plurality of IoT device properties, an IoT device profile. The IoT device profiler can create an anomaly report that identifies an anomaly associated with the IoT device. The correlator can correlate the DDoS attack report with the anomaly report to determine if a match exists. In response to determining that the match exists, the home gateway system can store the bot match record in a bot match repository.

The identified flow of data packets is monitored over a number of sample periods to obtain a number of monitored results. A data-flow activity record is generated, having a number of symbols corresponding to the number of monitored results, the symbols including an active symbol value indicative of a presence of an exchange of data and an idle symbol value indicative of an absence of an exchange of data. A suitability of the identified data flow is inferred for estimating a throughput of the network according to the data-flow activity record without interpreting contents of each respective packet payload portion.
