    Abstract: A network controller, a user equipment (UE) device, and associated methods for adaptively prioritizing simultaneous unicast and multicast communications based on traffic classes. The UE may determine whether each of a unicast communication and a multicast communication are associated with a foreground application or a background application. The UE may further determine whether each of the unicast communication and the multicast communication are high priority or low priority. The UE may then buffer one of the unicast or multicast communications based on the whether it is associated with a foreground or background application, whether it is high or low priority, and whether it is a unicast or multicast communication.

In a first mechanism, the device and method determines the carrier aggregation (CA) combinations supported by the user equipment that are relevant to the user equipment. in a priority order to the network. The relevant CA combinations may be determined based on most recent camped bands and the neighbor bands of the most recent camped bands. In a second mechanism, the device and method orders the relevant CA combinations into a prioritized list according to which CA combination have priority based on selected priority factors. Subsequently, the user equipment broadcasts the prioritized list of CA combinations to the network.

    Abstract: Embodiments for performing a fast return to Wi-Fi following completion of a cellular voice call are provided. These embodiments include detecting that a device has switched from communicating over a Wi-Fi interface to communicating over a cellular interface; determining the earliest time that the device can switch back to Wi-Fi; and instituting the switch. In some embodiments, the process of performing a fast return to Wi-Fi is carried out by devices having small form factors, such as smartwatches and other wearables, which may be susceptible to coexistence and peak power problems. The fast return to Wi-Fi embodiments disclosed herein allow a device to perform a voice call over a cellular interface when Wi-Fi calling is not available, and switch over to a Wi-Fi interface immediately upon completion of the voice call in order to conserve battery life, achieve higher data speeds, and avoid high costs associated with cellular data transmissions.

The UE detects multiple networks during a public land mobile network (PLMN) scan, wherein the multiple networks include one or more PLMNs and one or more stand-alone non-public networks (SNPNs), generates a manual network selection list that includes at least i) the one or more PLMNs or ii) the one or more SNPNs, determines a sequence in which entries of the manual network selection list are to be displayed at the UE, displays a graphical user interface (GUI) that includes a representation of the manual network selection list and registers with one of the multiple networks in response to user input.
