Abstract:
An automatic control device includes a danger detector unit for generating a danger signal upon detection of a danger condition. A power switching unit bypasses a manual control unit of the automatic control device so as to provide a power signal from a dc power supplying unit to a driving control unit, thereby enabling the driving control unit to activate a gate driver unit for moving a roll-up gate automatically to an open position upon reception of the danger signal. The driving control unit can be used to activate an automatic brake mechanism, an automatic door opening mechanism or both when the automatic control device is installed in an automobile.
Abstract:
A control for a power-assist feature for an hydraulic closer is driven by structure mounted on the pinion shaft of the closer. It includes a pump-activating arm slidably mounted on the shaft, the end of the arm adapted to cover a pump-on sensor when the door is `bumped`. It also includes a follower rotatably mounted near the pinion and engageable escapement-fashion by a wheel in friction fit on the pinion shaft, the follower carrying a pump-deactivating arm, the end of the latter arm adapted to move away from a pump-off sensor when the door opens to its preset limit.
Abstract:
An automatic door driving system is disclosed, which can electrically perform automatic door opening/closing operation in case of emergency, i.e., occurrence of a fire, or power stoppage and effect automatic door opening/closing control according to the prevailing situation. In the driving system, an AC power source and battery power source are selectively connected through an emergency battery unit to an automatic door controller for controlling an automatic door drive motor. Normally, electric power is supplied from the AC power source to the automatic door controller, while the battery power source is charged from the AC power source. At the time of power stoppage, electric power is supplied from the battery power source to the automatic door controller.
Abstract:
A security enclosure includes an access gate comprising at least one rigid barrier which can be retracted or advanced by remotely-actuated power means for opening and closing the gate. A support and drive structure which supports the driven end of the barrier includes upper drive means which provide positive drive connections to an upper surface of the barrier through downward pressure on at least two laterally-separated points and corresponding lower drive means which provide positive drive connections to a lower surface of the barrier and support the barrier on at least two laterally-separated points, with the upper and lower drive means being driven by a common power source and connecting drive means to open and close the gate. Remote switching means are provided to operate the drive means and latch means to open and close the gate. The upper and lower drive means can be rollers driven by belt drives. The barrier and/or fence can include framework structures of tubular stock, the tubes being interconnected to permit the insertion of reinforcing cables.
Abstract:
A sensing system for use in a garage or other similar enclosure having an automatic door operator for automatically opening a garage door responsive to a lack of sufficient oxygen therein including a gas detector located within the enclosure responsive to actuate a detection relay which in turn will close a normally open detection switch, the closing of the detection switch will normally cause operation of the door operator to allow oxygen to enter into the enclosure through the door opening, the detection switch being located in a door opening control circuit which includes therein a first limit switch which is open whenever the door is open in order to prevent actuation of the door operator when the door is already open, the door opening control circuit also including a delay clock and delay switch which will be normally closed to allow operation of the door operator, this system also including a time delay circuit with a second limit switch therein which is adapted to be normally open and to close only when the door is open, in this manner the second limit switch which will close when the door opens will cause actuation of the delay clock which will open the delay switch to prevent operation of the door opener for 5 minutes after the door has been opened and then closed, this system may also include a sensing lamp to be lighted whenever the gas detector is actively monitoring and also to alternatively include a detection indicator lamp which is adapted to be lighted responsive to the emitting of an electrical signal by the gas detector, the door opening control circuit in this configuration will cause opening of the door by actuation of the door operator whenever the gas detection means senses a low level of oxygen in the environment of the enclosure assuming that the door is not already in the open position.
