    Abstract: An image forming apparatus (1) includes a process unit (P) which is configured to be turned upward and then detached from an apparatus main body (3). The process unit (P) includes: a photosensitive drum (47); a developing device (51) which forms a developing nip area; a guide member (81) which comes into contact with an upper surface of a sheet and guides the sheet; and a seal member (91) supported between the developing device (51) and the guide member (81) in a turnable manner, wherein the seal member (91) opens a gap between the developing device (51) and the guide member (81) in a state where the process unit (P) is attached to the apparatus main body (3), and when the process unit (P) is turned upward, the seal member (91) is turned to close the gap between the developing device (51) and the guide member (81).

    Abstract: A drying apparatus which dries a medium on which an image is formed with ink while conveying the medium includes a conveyance part, a heating part, a measurement part and a controller. The conveyance part conveys the medium in a predetermined conveyance direction. The heating part supplies energy to the image on the sheet conveyed in the conveyance part and dries the image. The measurement part measures a value accompanied with moisture contained in the medium. The controller estimates an amount of moisture contained in the medium based on the value measured by the measurement part, and controls at least one of the conveyance part and the heating part so as to change an amount of the energy supplied to the image based on the estimated amount of moisture.

    Abstract: A driving transmission device includes a storage part, a fixing pin and a supporting part. The storage part has a through hole. The fixing pin rotatably supports a gear. To the supporting part, the fixing pin is fixed. A hole side chamfered portion is formed at an outside opening edge of the through hole. A shaft side chamfered portion is formed at the tip end portion of the fixing pin. A lubricant is applied to a contact area between the fixing pin and the through hole. A hole side boundary portion between an inner circumferential surface of the through hole and the hole side chamfered portion is in contact with an outer circumferential surface of the fixing pin. A shaft side boundary portion between an outer circumferential surface of the fixing pin and the shaft side chamfered portion faces the hole side chamfered portion with a gap.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a sheet feeding tray, a sheet discharge tray, and a conveyance mechanism. The conveyance mechanism includes a guide part, a first turning shaft, a second turning shaft, a coupling member and a drive part. The guide part has a sheet discharge port. The first turning shaft supports the guide part so as to be turned around an axis along a width direction crossing to the conveyance direction. The second turning shaft is provided on the downstream side of the first turning shaft and below the guide part. The coupling member has one end portion supported by the second turning shaft in a turnable manner and the other end portion provided so as to be slidable with respect to the guide part. The drive part turns the coupling member around the second turning shaft to change a height of the sheet discharge port.

    Abstract: A laser scanning device includes a polygon mirror, one or more lenses, and a plurality of light shielding plates. The polygon mirror reflects a light beam during rotation of the polygon mirror. The lenses allow the light beam reflected off the polygon mirror to pass through the lenses. The plurality of light shielding plates are arranged at a distance from each other and block an undesirable beam, which is part of the light beam, reflected off at least one of the lenses and heading for an optical device.     Abstract: A drive transmission device is provided with a drive pulley driven by a motor, a driven pulley in which a bulging part crowned in a shape bulging outward in the radial direction is formed over the entire circumference of the outer peripheral surface, a belt wound around the drive pulley and the driven pulley, and a first measurement unit for measuring rotation unevenness of the drive pulley. The drive pulley has a uniform diameter in the axial direction which is a smaller diameter than that of the driven pulley. The belt is bent and deformed along the bulging part of the driven pulley so that the axial center portion is expanded outward the axial end portion. The axial end of the belt contacts the outer peripheral surface of the drive pulley, but does not contact the outer peripheral surface of the driven pulley.
