摘要: An instrument for scanning a specimen on a specimen holder. The instrument includes a scanning stage for supporting the specimen and a detector having a plurality of pixels. The scanning stage and the detector are movable relative to each other to move the specimen in a scan direction during a scan, and at least some of the pixels of the detector are operable to collect light inside the specimen during the scan and generate corresponding image data. The instrument also includes a processor operable to perform MSIA on the image data and to generate two or more strip images. Each strip image has a different effective exposure. The processor combines the two or more strip images to generate an increased dynamic range (IDR) image of the specimen.

摘要: An instrument and a method of scanning a large microscope specimen moves the specimen relative to a detector array during scanning by a scanner. Magnification of the instrument is adjustable using a zoom tube lens over a continuous range of magnification to enable scans of the specimen to be taken over a range of resolutions without varying the infinity corrective objective. Scans of the specimen can be taken over a range of resolutions with the same infinity connected objective.

摘要: Computer-implemented methods and systems are provided for curating medical images for a medical image database. An example method for curating involves operating a processor to obtain a query medical image, assign the query medical image to an initial set of related images, and generate a similarity indicator for each image of the initial set. The similarity indicator is representative of a measure of similarity between image data of that image and the initial set. The processor is operable to define an intermediate set from the initial set based on the similarity indicators; and generate a relevancy indicator for each image of the intermediate set. The relevancy indicator is representative of a measure of the relevancy between relevance of the image and the intermediate set. The processor is operable to define a curated set of images from the intermediate set based on the relevancy indicators.

摘要: A content-based image retrieval (CBIR) system and method is presented herein. The CBIR system generates a relatively short vector or array of data, referred to as a barcode, from an input image. The short vector or array data can be used to represent the content of the image for image retrieval purposes. The system obtains the image and applies a transform to the image to generate a plurality of image transform values. The system thresholds the plurality of image transform values to obtain compact image transform values. The system generates a barcode in accordance with the compact image transform values and representative of the image. The system may then transmit the barcode to a database for storage or draw the barcode on a display. The system may also compare barcodes to find and retrieve similar images associated with similar barcodes.

摘要: A scanning microscope and method of operation has a scan filter with a repeat pattern of a plurality of rows that is repeated at least across an active area of an entire surface of an area detector. Each row is covered by a bandpass filter or an emission filter for a specific fluorophore or filters of a particular colour for each row. The scanning microscope can be used to obtain one or more of hyperspectral images, multispectral images, RGB images, RGBW images, W images and Single Field Of View images of a specimen using Moving Specimen Image Averaging. A method of obtaining one or more of the images is also described.

摘要: An instrument for imaging a specimen or a portion of a specimen is configured to capture multiple image frames of the portion of the specimen being scanned using Moving Specimen Image Average (MSIA) to create one or more image strips. The instrument is configured to use an active area of a two dimensional sensor array that covers substantially all of the width of the sensor array but less than a length. The one or more image strips are created from the multiple image frames as each of the multiple image frames is captured.Preferably, the instrument is configured to remove blurring, caused by distortion of the optics, by software or by warping a grid of the two dimensional detector array, including TDI array.
