摘要: A microscope comprising an illumination assembly, an image capture device and a processor can be configured to selectively identify regions of a sample comprising artifacts or empty space. By selectively identifying regions of the sample that have artifacts or empty space, the amount of time to generate an image of the sample and resources used to generate the image can be decreased substantially while providing high resolution for appropriate regions of the computational image. The processor can be configured to change the imaging process in response to regions of the sample that comprises artifacts or empty space. The imaging process may comprise a higher resolution process to output higher resolution portions of the computational image for sample regions comprising valid sample material, and a lower resolution process to output lower resolution portions of the computational image for sample regions comprising valid sample material.

摘要: The present invention provides methods and systems for a multimodal, portable imaging platform that can be easily installed on a mobile phone or other mobile communication devices carrying a camera. The portable imaging system includes an electronic device with a camera, a base attachment, and at least two interchangeable imaging heads. The base attachment is configured to connect to the digital device on one side and at least two removable, interchangeable imaging heads on the other side. The connected imaging head is in optical communication with the camera. Switching between different imaging modalities is as simple as switching between the interchangeable imaging heads. Each removable imaging head contains its own light source (or is optically connected to a laser diode disposed in the base attachment), lens, and/or optical filters that can be attached quickly to the same base attachment.

摘要: The present disclosure includes systems and methods for capture a whole slide image of a sample. In exemplary embodiments, a camera is configured to capture a digital image of a sample. The system captures a bright field image of the sample, and captures a digital image of the sample illuminated from a first incident angle at a first wavelength and a second incident angle at a second wavelength. The system can determine whether the sample is defocused based on the transitional shift between a first wavelength channel and a second wavelength channel of the captured digital image. The system can determine the defocus distance based on the transitional shift and autofocus using the defocus distance such the bright field image is in focus.

At least two overview raw images are detected using different illuminations of the specimen carrier, and, according to information to be extracted from the overview contrast image, a combination algorithm is selected by means of which the at least two overview raw images are combined to form the overview contrast image. According to information to be extracted from the overview contrast image, an image evaluation algorithm is selected by means of which the information is extracted.
