Abstract: A dissolvable composite slip can include at least in part a dissolvable material. A dissolvable composite slip can include at least in part a non-dissolvable metallic material. The dissolvable material should be strong enough to support the non-dissolvable metallic material which serves as teeth to set into the casing during the function of the downhole tool. The dissolvable material can include but is not limited to a polymeric material or a metallic material. At least a part of the slip is able to be set as well as be dissolved.

Abstract: A short millable plug includes a mandrel, an upper backup ring and a lower backup ring, a cone, a slip that can be expand and engage a casing, a plurality of sealing elements that creates a seal between the mandrel and the casing, a centralizer that can radially expand to force against the casing wall, a mill-out anti-rotation feature at the middle of the mandrel which is exposed once the plug is set. The centralizer can keep the plug in the center of the casing and each individual slip segments of the slip has the same distance to the casing wall during setting and operation. The mill-out anti-rotation feature can reduce relative rotation between the plug and the casing while reduces the length of the plug.

Abstract: A vibrational tool with tool axis rotational mass and method is disclosed, which may be utilized to assist in lowering a drill string into a wellbore. A reciprocating member and rotatable mass are mounted within a vibrational tool housing. A plurality of curved passageways are positioned to induce rotation in response to fluid flow through the tool housing. As the rotatable mass rotates, a mechanical interconnection causes the reciprocating member to reciprocate, and results in vibrational forces for moving a bottom hole assembly.

Abstract: A vibrational tool and method is disclosed, which may be utilized to assist in lowering a drill string into a wellbore. In one embodiment, a reciprocating member and a symmetrical rotating member are mounted within a vibrational tool housing. The reciprocating member is urged in one embodiment by a spring assembly toward the rotating member whereby engagement surfaces on the reciprocating member and rotating member encounter each other. As the rotating member rotates, variable surfaces on the engagement surface cause the reciprocating member to reciprocate as the variable surfaces follow or cam with respect to each other during rotation. The resistance to rotation by engagement surfaces and spring assembly, and mass of the rotating member, result in vibrational forces, when drilling fluid flows through the vibration tool housing.

Abstract: The packer system includes a packer mandrel, an upper support or gage ring, a seal member, an upper slip device, an upper cone, a lower cone, a lower slip device, a setting sleeve, and a setting piston. The seal member has a run-in position and a set position. The set position seals against a borehole at a location in a borehole. The setting sleeve has a bypass position to transfer load of the setting piston away from the lower slip device and to the lower cone, the seal member, and the upper cone to set the seal member and upper slip device before the lower slip device. The setting sleeve has a released position to separate from the setting piston so that the load of the setting piston can finally be applied on the lower slip device for expansion of the lower slip device at the proper time and location.
