摘要: In a disk drive the drive motor and actuator are mounted in a drawer which is slidable to an open position in which there is no vertical obstruction over the motor. The removable cartridge can be placed on the motor with the motor extending into the cartridge to engage the hub. A shutter in an edge of the cartridge is moved to an open position when the drawer is closed to provide access for the actuator to move magnetic heads into read/write relationship with the disks. A lock for the shutter maintains it in the closed position when the drawer is open.

摘要: An automatic downhole jetting system for advancing a string and automatically operating a valve mechanism upon contact with a restriction in a wellbore. A jetting unit receives a working fluid, and an activation unit slidably engaged with the jetting unit. The jetting unit includes the valve mechanism for controlling fluid flow out through angled jet ports or through the activation unit. The activation unit can move toward the jetting unit upon contact with a restriction in the wellbore. The activation unit activates the valve mechanism, thereby allowing fluid to flow past the activation unit to remove the restriction. Upon removal of the restriction, the fluid flow deactivates the valve mechanism, thereby closing fluid flow past the activation unit and continuing jetting operation.

摘要: An electrical heater has first and second heater elements, each having a hairpin-shaped metal tube with an upstream and a downstream leg and tube ends adjacent each other. An electrical resistance wire surrounded by insulation powder extends through the tube. Electrical terminals join to the wire and protrude from each of the tube ends. Conduits enclose the upstream and the downstream legs of the heater elements, providing a continuous annular flow path. A manifold has heater element passages for end portion of the legs. An inlet passage in the manifold leads from an exterior portion of the manifold to the annular flow path surrounding the upstream leg of the first heater element. A transfer passage within the manifold leads from the annular flow path surrounding the downstream leg of the first heater element to the annular flow path surrounding the upstream leg of the second heater element.

摘要: A suspension system for a differential-pressure touch sensitive panel suspended over force sensors, for use in either fixed or mobile devices such as point of sales terminals, kiosks, laptops, monitors, PDAs, cell phones, UMPCs and more. In one embodiment, a number of leaf springs are attached directly to the touch lens at both ends and attached directly to the underlying housing at the center, effectively pulling the leaf spring down at the center into a concave arc. The spring bias preloads the touch lens downward against the force sensors. The leaf springs bring the touch lens into a fixed state in the xy-plane and resist translation; however, the touch lens remains free to float against the bias of the leaf spring(s) without any frictional physical contact along the z-axis.

摘要: A gastric reduction apparatus that facilitates the creation of a transoral linear passageway through the stomach includes an elongated body including a proximal end and a distal end. The elongated body is generally sinusoidal shaped with at least one tissue engaging surface oriented such that a needle will pass therethrough. The elongated body also includes at least one needle passing channel respectively formed adjacent the at least one tissue engaging surface. The at least one needle passing channel generally passes through the center of the sinusoidal waveforms defined by the at least one tissue engaging surface such that a needle will pass entirely through stomach tissue contacting the tissue engaging surface of the elongated body. The elongated body further includes a suture passing channel.

摘要: A system and method for end-to-end transaction processing and statusing is disclosed. In one embodiment, an application server computer is used to house a variety of applications. An application accessed by a user converts a user request into an eXtensible Markup Language (XML) document. The application server computer uses a high level protocol to pass the XML document to a back office server which has access to a business' enterprise resource planning (ERP) database. The back office server performs the functions requested in the XML document, which may include complex database manipulations. Once the requested function has been performed, the back office server generates a response XML document which is passed to the application server computer using a high level protocol. The information within the response XML document is then presented to the user. According to one aspect of the invention, a navigational interface is provided which incorporates a hierarchical display of business documents based upon a dominant-subordinate relationship between the documents, the relationship between the documents being established according to a progression based on how documents are encountered in a typical business environment. The selection of a specific document constitutes the user request and the response comprises user specific information from the business entity ERP database.
