The heater cycle's method and apparatus means is susceptible to providing a 95 to 98 percent mass flow reduction of fugitive nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide mass flow emissions as emitted by current art Low-NO.sub.x art heaters on a rated per million Btu per hour basis, and is further susceptible to developing steady-state heat transfer thermal efficiencies exceeding 124 percent.

摘要： An automated drill road loader particularly suited for thin walled drill rods. The loader, generally affixed to a drill, includes an open frame sufficiently wide to accommodate and store drill rods. A clamp rod gripper and a swing gripper consisting of two pendulums are affixed to a side of the frame. A lift first raises a stored rod from the open frame. The rod is then grasped by the clamp rod gripper and the swing gripper to index the rod in a drill mast. By sequentially manipulating and translating the clamp rod gripper and the swing gripper, the rod is carefully held for threading. The drill rod may be establishing a new drill string or it may be inserted into an existing drill string.

摘要： A diffusional gas transfer system and method having a membrane disposed between a first gas domain and a second gas domain. The first gas domain includes a first mechanism for directing a first environmental gas flow transversely over and in contact with a first surface of the membrane. The second gas domain includes a second mechanism for directing a second environmental gas flow transversely over and in contact with a second surface of the membrane. The membrane is a diffusional gas transfer medium having a multiplicity of tortuous pathways extending from the first surface of the membrane to the second surface of the membrane. The void volume fraction of the membrane is at least 0.2. The membrane is capable of substantially blocking the transfer of particles from the first gas domain to the second gas domain, while permitting the diffusion of gases between the first and second gas domains, and the first gas domain is maintained at a pressure higher than the second gas domain.

摘要： A system for locating inflamed plaque in an artery of a patient includes a catheter with an expander mounted at a catheter distal end. An infrared carrier, e.g., an optical fiber is mounted on the catheter with a carrier distal end attached to the expander. A sensor is connected to a carrier proximal end to measure infrared radiation transmitted through the carrier from the carrier distal end. In use, the expander is operable to selectively move the carrier distal end into contact with the arterial wall. Infrared radiation can then be measured to determine the temperature at the arterial wall. Temperatures at various locations can be taken, with elevated temperatures being indicative of inflamed plaque.
