A multi-unit fuel cell system that includes a common-use reforming unit configured to supply hydrogen to multiple fuel cell units that are installed in multiple units, such as apartments within an apartment building. In one example embodiment, a fuel cell system including a common-use reforming unit and multiple fuel cell units is disclosed. The common-use reforming unit is configured to supply hydrogen to the plurality of fuel cell units. Each fuel cell unit includes a stack unit, an air supplying unit, an integral heat exchange unit, a hot-water supplying unit, an auxiliary heat supplying unit, and an electric output unit.

The present invention provides a regenerative thermal oxidizer which burns and eliminates harmful process gases generated in industrial sites. The present invention provides the regenerative thermal oxidizer in which different parts of the rotor are used as inlet and outlet process gas flow paths to increase the ability to process the process gases. According to the present invention, the ability to process the process gases is enhanced in spite of the rotor being similar in size to typical rotors and, as well as, the structure of the rotor and adjacent components is simplified.

Provided are an optical fiber amplification method and apparatus for controlling a gain. Initial values including target gains of first and second amplifications for an optical amplifier amplifying the input light signal are set. Power of the input light signal is measured and the power of first and second backward pump lights proceeding in the opposite direction to the input light signal is controlled based on the measured power. The input light signal is firstly amplified and a first amplification gain of the amplified light signal is calculated. Power of a first forward pump light proceeding in the same direction as the input light signal is controlled so that the first amplification gain can be substantially equal to the target gain of the first amplification. The firstly amplified light signal is secondly amplified and a second amplification gain with respect to the input light signal is calculated. The power of a second forward pump light proceeding in the same direction as the input light signal is controlled so that the second amplification gain can be substantially equal to the target gain of the second amplification.

Provided are a Raman amplifier and a Raman pumping method. A light source unit outputs a pumping light having a wavelength that periodically changes. A light intensity control unit varies a light intensity of the pumping light using the pumping light to improve the gain flatness of a Raman gain. A control unit directs the light intensity control unit to control the light intensity of the pumping light in synchronization with changes in the wavelength of the pumping light.

Disclosed is a Brillouin erbium-fiber laser system producing multiwavelengths with a dual spacing of 10 GHz and 20 GHz. The Brillouin erbium-fiber laser system includes: a Sagnac reflector generating even- and odd-order Strokes waves by launching input lights, a first unit forming a first resonator with the Sagnac reflector, wherein the first unit is coupled to a first directional coupler in the Sagnac reflector, a second unit forming a second resonator with the Sagnac reflector, wherein the second unit is coupled to the first directional coupler in the Sagnac reflector, and a third unit for inputting Brillouin pump light into one of first and the second units, whereby the optical fiber laser system outputs multiwavelengths with a dual spacing.
