Abstract: The present invention provides a system and a method for emergency notification that combines the incorporates the RDS/RDBS capability of selected FM radio stations, as well as a specialized addressable receiver with appropriate audio, visual and vibrating signaling capabilities. These elements are combined with a reliable and survivable communications channel to permit activation of the emergency notification signal from a software based tool provided in a command unit. This enables accurate recording of both the status of the emergency units and emergency personnel as well as permits secure notification of the emergency related information to all involved personnel in substantially real-time.

Abstract: An apparatus for introducing gas into a large body of liquid, including a horizontal frame on ballast adjustable floats, a pressurized gas source, a vertical shaft rotatable about its axis, and a plurality of blades submerged in the liquid and extending radially from a hub on the lower end of the shaft. The blades each have an elastomeric membrane around a longitudinal member, where the longitudinal member is hollow with a closed end and in communication with the pressurized gas source through the shaft on the other end, with openings through its lower side, and the elastomeric membrane has perforations which are spaced from the longitudinal member openings. A drive on the platform rotates the shaft via a ring gear around the shaft with a key connection thereto allowing axial movement therethrough, and an inwardly facing surface supported on bearings. A selectively driven and smaller pinion gear directly engages the ring gear.

Abstract: A roll-on liquid applicator having an applicator ball disposed within a dispensing chamber and a spring element with a valve head portion. The spring element effects a distally-directed force to press the valve head against the valve opening to maintain a sealing closure of the valve opening against flow of the liquid from the feed chamber into the dispensing chamber. The valve head has a ball support structure which extends distally through the valve opening to contact with the applicator ball so that when the ball is inwardly displaced by force applied thereto, the valve head moves axially inward from the closed-valve position to the open-valve position, thereby moving the valve head from the closed-valve position in contact with the valve opening toward the open-valve position which allows liquid from the feed chamber to enter the dispensing chamber.

Abstract: Extrusion of feed materials of a high temperature formable non-ferrous metal susceptible to embrittlement during air processing uses an extrusion system having a rotatable wheel and shoe covering part of the length of a groove around the periphery of the wheel to form an arcuate passageway, the shoe having an abutment which substantially closes a second end of the passageway and an extrusion die spaced from the abutment by a die chamber. The process includes pre-heating the feed material to not less than about 390° C. in a chamber defined by a feeder device, maintaining a protective atmosphere in the chamber of the feeder device while the feed material is heated. The pre-heated feed material then is passed to an inlet end of the passageway, and drawn along the passageway, to be forced by the abutment into the die chamber and through an extrusion orifice of the die to provide extruded product.
