摘要： In some examples, a system includes an article of personal protective equipment (PPE) having at least one sensor configured to generate a stream of usage data; and an analytical stream processing component comprising: a communication component that receives the stream of usage data; a memory configured to store at least a portion of the stream of usage data and at least one model for detecting a safety event signature, wherein the at least one model is trained based as least in part on a set of usage data generated by one or more other articles of PPE of a same type as the article of PPE; and one or more computer processors configured to: detect the safety event signature in the stream of usage data based on processing the stream of usage data with the model, and generate an output in response to detecting the safety event signature.

摘要： A system and method for optimizing a rescue operation of an individual. The method comprises maintaining, by an individual engaged in an activity, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) associated with and in proximity to the individual. For storage at the UAV, the individual records at a recording device a message. A sensor device is configured to detect a situation requiring a need to rescue the individual at a current location, and generates a trigger signal in response to a detection. In response to the receipt of the trigger signal, a current GPS location of the individual is recorded and a launching of the UAV to traverse a flight-path to a destination location. At or before arriving at the destination location, the UAV contemporaneously provides the stored recorded message and current GPS location of the individual to an emergency response authority to inform of the individual's situation and location.

摘要： A victim retrieval apparatus for use with a vehicle. In some embodiments, the rescue basket comprises one or more wheels. The articulating head of the boom comprises a rotatable pulley for receiving the rescue line and is able to allow the vehicle to be parked in any position necessary while rescuing the victim. A knot-passing pulley enables a safety line (with emergency brake device) to be coupled to the basket thereby ensuring the safety of the victim in the basket at all times. The rescue basket comprises a remote control for controlling the winch speed that is able to be located at the winch itself, or be of a hand-held nature and attached at the rescue basket instead of at the vehicle if visual contact is problematic.

A method and set of instructions also are provided.

摘要： A portable signaling device for use in a reduced visibility environment. The signaling device includes a housing for carrying the signaling device into the reduced visibility environment, the housing having a signaling side and an attachment side, the signaling side configured to transmit an infrared signal and the attachment side configured to be secured to a structure within the environment, and an infrared energy source located within the housing, the infrared energy source including a power source, an emitter connected to the power source, and a switching mechanism connected to the power source and the emitter. The signaling device also includes a control circuit coupled to the infrared energy source, the control circuit configured to receive an input representing a message to be transmitted to a thermal imaging camera being carried by a first responder, the message providing a visual indication of a firefighting operation, and operate the infrared energy source to transmit the infrared signal representing the message to the thermal imaging camera.

摘要： An airbag device for the body instantaneously activates an airbag without malfunctions.When an absolute value of an angular velocity detected by an angular velocity sensor exceeds a predetermined angular velocity value, angular velocity values are integrated from a most recent detected value to an oldest value within a predetermined time period, and if an absolute value of a resultant value of integral exceeds a predetermined value and an acceleration detected by an acceleration sensor is smaller than a predetermined acceleration, the airbag is inflated. Based on the value of the integral of the angular velocities, a case in which an angular velocity gradually increases is distinguished from a case in which an angular velocity momentarily increases, so the airbag device effectively prevents malfunctions caused by an action other than falling over. Additionally, because it is unnecessary to intentionally delay determination to prevent malfunctions, the airbag can instantaneously be inflated.
