Abstract:
Systems and method to provide bundled services through a communication device. A particular method may include determining a first bundle of services to offer a user of an end user communication device, where the first bundle of services has a total bandwidth consumption rate computed based on stored bandwidth consumption rates corresponding to services within the first bundle of services. The total bandwidth consumption rate is less than a predicted bandwidth capacity. The particular method may also include comparing a predicted bandwidth capacity to measured bandwidth statistics to identify an additional bandwidth capacity of a set of transport facilities and determining a first additional service to offer a user of the end user communication device to utilize the additional bandwidth capacity.
Abstract:
The invention relates to novel methods and kits for treating or preventing disease through the administration of random copolymers comprising amino acids tyrosine (Y), phenylalanine (F), alanine (A), and lysine (K). The invention also relates to the treatment of autoimmune diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, and to the administration of random copolymers in treatment regimen comprising formulations that are administered at intervals greater than 24 hours, or to sustained release formulations which administer the copolymer over a period greater than 24 hours. The invention further relates to methods for conducting a pharmaceutical business comprising manufacturing, licensing, or distributing kits containing or relating to the formulations or dosing regimens of random copolymer described herein.
Abstract:
The instant invention provides methods for the detection and quantitation of complex peptide mixtures in tissue samples and functional readouts of the results of administration of such complex peptide mixtures. The instant invention further provides methods for administering complex peptide mixtures to a subject in need thereof, the dosage regimen and quantity determined based on the above mentioned method for detection and quantitation.
Abstract:
A gaming machine for playing a wagering game includes a housing having a display region, a controller for conducting the wagering game, and a video projector coupled to the controller. The display region includes a plurality of projection surfaces secured to floating screen assemblies. The video projector simulates mechanical reels of a slot machine in the display region. The video projector displays images of a plurality of symbols that indicate a randomly selected outcome of said wagering game. The images are projected onto the projection surfaces within the display region.
Abstract:
A gaming machine for conducting a wagering game includes a value input device for receiving a wager and at least one rotatable reel. The reel comprises a reel strip arranged about the periphery of a cage. The reel strip comprises an alterable film for displaying a plurality of symbols. The gaming machine further comprises a controller operative to alter the appearance of at least one of the plurality of symbols displayed on the film.
Abstract:
A gaming machine controlled by a processor in response to a wager comprises a main display, a secondary display, and a touch screen assembly overlying the secondary display. The secondary display touch screen assembly has an inner bezel frame, an insulated touch screen, a panel having an opening, and an outer bezel frame. The insulated touch screen ha an insulating material around a periphery of the touch screen. The insulated touch screen is positioned within the opening of the panel. The panel and the insulated touch screen are positioned between the inner bezel frame and the outer bezel frame.
Abstract:
An electromechanical coin sound simulator in a gaming machine having a controller, is disclosed. The generated coin sound may be used as a sound effect during game play or may be used to audibly signify a coin award associated with a winning game outcome. The electromechanical coin sound simulator includes a motor coupled to the controller, and an arm assembly activated for rotative movement by the motor. The arm assembly includes portions adapted to strike an interior area of the gaming machine to generate the coin sound. The arm assembly may be a multilink arm assembly, a single link arm assembly, or a spring loaded arm assembly. The electromechanical coin sound simulator may also be configured with a solenoid assembly, belt-feeding coin conveyor assembly, or a disc-feeding coin conveyor assembly, to name a few.
Abstract:
A gaming machine includes a coin input device for receiving coins that can be used to play a wagering game. The coin input device includes a coin control mechanism and a coin validation component downstream from the coin control mechanism. The coin control mechanism slows the velocity and properly spaces the coins to prevent jamming and to allow the coin validation component to accurately identify the currency value and authenticity of each coin.
Abstract:
Recombinant active glucocerebrosidase is produced by a eukaryotic cell. Also, a cell includes nucleic acid encoding enzymatically active glucocerebrosidase; also a eukaryotic organism contains such a cell. Also, a method for producing enzymatically active glucocerebrosidase includes steps of introducing glucocerebrosidase-encoding nucleic acid into a eukaryotic cell, causing the cell to express glucocerebrosidase, and purifying the glucocerebrosidase from the cell.
Abstract:
An embodiment of a gaming machine has a primary game display operable to display the outcome of a game, and a secondary display overlaying the primary game display. The secondary display may have a stand alone transmissive LCD display and at least one backlight assembly, the backlight assembly spaced apart from the transmissive LCD display and located between the transmissive LCD display and the primary game display. With the backlight assembly spaced apart from the transmissive LCD display, the backlight assembly may be removed from or inserted into the gaming machine. This permits different games to be installed in the gaming machine during manufacture or as a retrofit.
