Abstract:
A gaming machine for conducting a wagering game includes a player-actuated button containing multicolored or multiple LEDs of varied colors for representing denominations, play modes, or values in a wagering game.
Abstract:
A method and system to reduce vibration in a turbine-generator including measuring a magnitude of radial vibration of a turbine shaft with at least one vibration sensor configured to generate a vibration signal indicative of vibration frequency; measuring a generator power output with a power output sensor configured to generate a generator power output signal; detecting vibration frequencies in a rough load zone range; engaging an air injection means when a magnitude of radial vibration detected in the rough load zone range is above a predetermined threshold; storing a generator power output level as a reference level when engaging the air injection means; and disengaging the air injection means when either the measured generator power output exceeds a predetermined level or the measured generator power output differs from the reference level by a predetermined amount.
Abstract:
A liquid monitoring system includes chamber structure with a monitoring region in which the liquid to be monitored is disposed, the monitoring region having two spaced wall portions and a supplemental wall portion. The system further includes a radiation source mounted adjacent one of the spaced wall portions or directing a beam of radiation along a horizontal path, and a sensor mounted adjacent the opposed wall portion for receiving radiation in a beam path. The incident radiation beam as it passes through the wall into the monitoring region is refracted at the region surface as a function of gas or liquid within the region. At a first refracting angle, the refracted beam impinges on the supplemental wall and is internally reflected, the reflected radiation passing along a reflected beam path and sensed by the detector to provide an indication of the fluid in the chamber. At a second refracting angle, the refracted beam is not reflected in a direction such that radiation from the source is sensed.
Abstract:
An embodiment of a gaming machine has a primary game display operable to display the outcome of a game, and a secondary display overlaying the primary game display. The secondary display may have a stand alone transmissive LCD display and at least one backlight assembly, the backlight assembly spaced apart from the transmissive LCD display and located between the transmissive LCD display and the primary game display. With the backlight assembly spaced apart from the transmissive LCD display, the backlight assembly may be removed from or inserted into the gaming machine. This permits different games to be installed in the gaming machine during manufacture or as a retrofit.
Abstract:
A releasable reel strip attachment assembly including an attachment strip with snap rivets that snaps through corresponding apertures in a reel strip and into apertures in a reel cage. The attachment strip includes an adhesive layer protected by a release backing that is removed to expose the adhesive layer. The reel strip is positioned over the reel cage so that the apertures in the reel strip co-align with those of the reel cage, and the snap rivets are inserted through the aligned apertures to attach the reel strip to the reel cage in a reliable, precise, and consistent manner. The reel strip is wound around the reel cage and the free end of the reel strip is pressed onto the exposed adhesive layer of the attachment strip.
Abstract:
A gaming machine for conducting a wagering game includes a player-actuated button containing a representation of a variable dice outcome affecting events in the wagering game.
Abstract:
The present invention provides isolated peptides relating to the autoimmune disease Pemphigus vulgaris. The peptides relating to Pemphigus vulgaris are self epitopes derived from human pathogens which are implicated in the aetiology and remissions of the disease. Pharmaceutical preparations for tolerizing and/or immunizing individuals are provided as well as methods relating thereto. Methods are provided for identifying other self and non-self epitopes involved in human autoimmune disease and similar pharmaceutical preparations and methods of use for these epitopes are also provided.

Abstract:
Systems and method to provide bundled services through a communication device. A particular method may include determining a first bundle of services to offer a user of an end user communication device, where the first bundle of services has a total bandwidth consumption rate computed based on stored bandwidth consumption rates corresponding to services within the first bundle of services. The total bandwidth consumption rate is less than a predicted bandwidth capacity. The particular method may also include comparing a predicted bandwidth capacity to measured bandwidth statistics to identify an additional bandwidth capacity of a set of transport facilities and determining a first additional service to offer a user of the end user communication device to utilize the additional bandwidth capacity.
Abstract:
The invention relates to novel methods and kits for treating or preventing disease through the administration of random copolymers comprising amino acids tyrosine (Y), phenylalanine (F), alanine (A), and lysine (K). The invention also relates to the treatment of autoimmune diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, and to the administration of random copolymers in treatment regimen comprising formulations that are administered at intervals greater than 24 hours, or to sustained release formulations which administer the copolymer over a period greater than 24 hours. The invention further relates to methods for conducting a pharmaceutical business comprising manufacturing, licensing, or distributing kits containing or relating to the formulations or dosing regimens of random copolymer described herein.
