Abstract:
The present disclosure provides for a liquid electrophotographic (LEP) ink comprising a carrier fluid, a pigment, a high melt viscosity ethylene acrylic acid copolymer resin, and a high acid ethylene acrylic acid copolymer resin. The high acid ethylene acrylic acid copolymer resin can have an acid content of at least 15 wt % and a viscosity of at least 8,000 poise. Additionally, the LEP ink can have a total resin acidity of at least 15 wt % and a total resin melt viscosity of at least 20,000 poise.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus, including systems and computer program products, for a services architecture design that provides enterprise services having accounting functionality at the level of an enterprise application. The design includes a set of service operations, process components, and optionally deployment units. Suitable business objects are also described.
Abstract:
A pill dispensing cap that secures to a conventional pill container. The pill dispensing cap has a lower cap, a pill discharge port, and a spring loaded rotatable and slidable upper cap. Pills are dispensed one at a time, and the remaining pills are isolated from external contamination. A child resistant lock prevents small children and/or mentally handicapped individuals from easily accessing medicine inside the container. The child resistant lock uses a vertically slidable upper cap that is slidably and rotatably attached to the lower cap. A child safety lock uses a key in the upper cap that must be aligned with a slot in the lower cap to allow a pill to be dispensed. When the key and slot are aligned, the upper cap is vertically compressed against the lower cap. As the upper cap moves toward the base cap, a gravity fed pill discharge port is exposed which releases a single pill.
Abstract:
A fuel filter system characterized by a simple design provided with a coalescer element (20) disposed in the immediate fuel inlet region for improving the elimination of water droplets. The coalescer element includes an upper end plate (26) that extends to the inner wall of the housing (10), thereby sealing the coalescer element as well as the inlet region and the outer unfiltered fluid region. The coalescer element (20) and the particle filter (19) are arranged on a common separating element (25), which rests against the discharge tube (17) located in the center of the fuel filter via a profiled seal. The end plate of the coalescer element can be produced with the profiled elastomeric seal molded thereon by two-component injection molding or by overmolding.
Abstract:
A method for forming paper or paperboard includes applying a plurality of nanofibers to a web of cellulose paper fibers using an electrospinning device comprising a plurality of meniscus initiators. The paper or paperboard may also be coated with a top coating to provide desired print properties.
Abstract:
This invention involves synthesis and use of a class of compounds with chelation affinity and selectivity for first transition series elements. Administration of the free or conjugated compound, or physiological salts of the free or conjugated compound, results in decrease in the in vivo bioavailability of first transition series elements and/or removal from the body of first transition series elements and elements with similar chemical properties. These characteristics make such compounds useful in the management of diseases associated with a bodily excess of first transition series elements and elements with similar chemical properties. This invention demonstrates that such compounds inhibit mammalian, bacterial, and fungal cell replication and are therefore useful in the treatment of neoplasia, infection, inflammation, immune reponse, and in termination of pregnancy. Since these compounds are capable of descreasing the in vivo availability of tissue iron they are useful in management of free radical mediated tissue damage, and oxidation mediated tissue damage. When combined with radioisotopic or paramagnetic cations of first transition series elements, or elements with chemical properties similar to those of first transition series elements, prior to their administration, the resulting complexes are useful as diagnostic agents in nuclear medicine and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Abstract:
A presenting/dispensing system for chain-interconnected, cut-separable orthodontic/medical devices, organized into groups having a pre-selected number of patient-usable units, including a container constructed for housing such devices, and presenting/dispensing aperture substructure formed therein to allow for presenting such devices and dispensing a desired number of the same in an indexed manner. The system also includes check structure associated with the presenting/dispensing aperture substructure, which check structure is changeable, as a result of dispensing action, to a first condition that accommodates dispensing of such devices, and to a second condition, upon termination of such action, that resists slipping back of a chain of devices into the container.
Abstract:
Polyphosphonate ligands containing three or more phosphonate groups, combined with paramagnetic metal cations and administered in the form of pharmacologically acceptable salts, are useful as MRI contrast enhancement agents, which tend to localize in bone tissue without being conjugated to bone-specific biomolecules. Triazacyclononanes and tetraazacyclododecanes, with dihydroxyphosphorylmethyl or dihydroxyphosphorylethyl groups, optionally substituted at the methyl or ethyl bridges with alkyl, aryl, hydroxyl or amino groups, are particularly preferred.
Abstract:
An orthodontic traction-hook device which is adapted for selective, removable attachment to posts in an orthodontic bracket. The device includes spaced, interconnected legs that are releasably engageable with such posts, and a projection operatively joined to such legs for receiving an orthodontic, traction-applying instrumentality, such as a conventional orthodontic elastomer unit.
