摘要： Methods of treating mercury contaminated gas comprising: introducing a hydrogen halide selected from HBr and HI into a mercury contaminated gas stream containing a quantity of particulate matter at an introduction rate sufficient to create a concentration of at least 0.1 ppmvd; wherein greater than 50% of all particulate matter in the mercury contaminated gas stream is a native particulate matter; contacting a quantity of active bromine with the native particulate matter; creating a doped particulate matter; coating a filtration media with the doped particulate matter; and passing a portion of the mercury contaminated gas stream through the doped particulate matter on the filtration media and other related methods are disclosed herein.

摘要： A method and system for supply chain product and process development collaboration. The supply chain is comprised of at least one project, each project having a part (or family of parts), a supplier of the part, and a customer. The system may include a data storage and retrieval device operably connected to a processor. The system's functions include collaboration tools and security based on the users' project roles. The method uses a methodology that ensures certain requirements are met prior to satisfying the methodology. The system and method of the present invention ensures that current, applicable methodologies are applied to a specific part and allows for collaboration between the customer and supplier during all phases of the project. Because all projects in a supply chain are present, a user can navigate throughout the supply chain. The supply chain's reporting functions permit determination of potential performance risks and the source thereof.

摘要： A self-verifying security document, such as a banknote, comprises a flexible sheet formed from a plastics substrate bearing indicia. The sheet has a window of transparent plastics material that includes self-verification means for verifying a security device provided at a laterally spaced second portion of the sheet when the sheet is bent or folded to bring the window into register with the security device. The self-verification means may be an optical lens for reading an area of microprinting. In another embodiment, the self-verification means may be an optical filter for viewing an area printed with metameric inks. In other embodiments, the self-verification means and the security device may be polarizing windows or Moire inducing patterns.

摘要： A method is provided for managing usage of a plurality of local area networks by a plurality of subscribers associated with a service provider. The subscribers have terminals for accessing the local area networks. The terminals each have a client program for communicating with a service provider network. For each subscriber desiring to access a local area network, the method includes: (a) receiving at a gateway at the service provider network a request for authenticating a subscriber desiring access to the local area network, the request containing subscriber credentials for the subscriber desiring access to the local area network; (b) authenticating the subscriber based on the subscriber credentials and information relating to the subscriber previously stored in a subscriber database; (c) authorizing the local area network to grant access to the subscriber when the subscriber is authenticated; (d) establishing a link between the gateway and a client program on a terminal operated by the subscriber; (e) collecting session information through the link; (f) receiving information on local area network usage by the subscriber; and (g) transmitting the information on local area network usage to a billing system for billing of usage by the subscriber.

摘要： A security document (1), such as a bank note, is formed from a sheet-like substrate (10) of clear plastic material with layers (13, 14, 15, 16) of opacifying ink applied to the surfaces (11, 12) of the substrate (10). The security document (1) includes a security device (20) which is at least partially obscured by the layers (13, 14) of opacifying ink on a flat surface (11) of the substrate (10). The layers (15, 16) on the second surface (12) of the substrate (10) are applied in such a manner so as to leave a “half-window” area uncovered by opacifying ink through which the security device (20) is visible for one side of the document (1). The security device (20) may extend transversely outside the half-window area and be visible in transmission, enabling a different contrasting effect to be observed from both sides of the document.

摘要： A system and process for disposal of dry fly ash that effectively confines and damps fugitive dust during the collection, sorting, transporting, storage and treatment of fly ash at a landfill. The system and process for disposal of dry fly ash utilizing an enlarged, oversized hopper positioned at the top of a hill and an elongate channel that runs between the enlarged hopper and the landfill. A bulk transport truck hauling a belly dump trailer dumps dry fly ash through an elevated platform having a centrally aligned orifice into the oversized hopper having a slurry rack and a large hopper grate. The dry fly ash is mixed with water in the enlarged hopper at a ratio of approximately 1:1, after which it flows downstream into the elongate channel and ultimately to the landfill. When the transport truck is positioned above the enlarged hopper, the doors of the belly dump trailer open and contact a substantially upright skirt surrounding the periphery of the orifice. The ramps and raised platform of the enlarged hopper allow the belly dump trailer compartments to be closer to the orifice and the hopper grate in order to minimize fugitive ash during the disposal process. A fan located within the elongate channel creates a partial vacuum forcing the dry fly ash from the belly dump trailer into the enlarged hopper, which is mixed with water from the slurry rack and allowed to flow downstream where it is further mixed within the elongate channel.
