Abstract:
A loading assembly includes an elongated rod connected to a load bearing structure. A ramp is selectively movable toward and away from the rod for attaching and detaching, respectively, with respect to the load bearing structure. A latch is connected to the ramp and movable between a first position and a second position with respect to the ramp. The latch automatically moves from the first position to the second position to trap the rod between the latch and the ramp when the ramp is moved toward the rod and the latch contacts the rod, thereby attaching the ramp with respect to the load-bearing structure. The latch automatically moves from the second position to the first position to release the rod from between the latch and the ramp when the ramp is moved away from the rod, thereby detaching the ramp with respect to the load bearing structure.
Abstract:
Coated or uncoated paper that has small sized calcium carbonate on its surface. The calcium carbonate is placed on the paper web at the size press, by a spray or at a coating operation. The calcium carbonate can have a maximum mean average size of 200 nm. Another embodiment has a maximum mean average size of 100 nm. Another embodiment has a maximum mean average size of 50 nm. Different weight levels may be placed on the paper.
Abstract:
A technique for performing a time slot interchange in a processor. The TSI process is surrounded by a multiplexing/demultiplexing circuit for converting a plurality of PCM highways into a single input serial data stream. The mux/demux circuit includes elastic stores to align frames and shift resisters to mux/demux with a minimum of delay. The TSI processor includes an input and an output buffered series port, a pair of input buffers, one to receive even-numbered frames from the PCM highways and one to receive odd-numbered frames, and an output buffer. Data is read from the appropriate input buffer in a non-sequential fashion as commanded by the processor in accordance with information stored in connection arrays (address buffers). The data is then written to the output buffer sequentially. The timing of the reading and writing steps is optimized relative to free running buffered serial port pointers for each BSP to reduce the frame delay.
Abstract:
The disclosed system for estimating the ambient noise level in a listening space includes a memory for storing a plurality of noise values at memory locations therein, each of the noise values being representative of the ambient noise in the listening space associated with a corresponding set of conditions of the listening space. The system further includes an address generator for generating an address signal in response to a current set of conditions of the listening space so that the address signal accesses a location of the memory storing the noise value associated with the current set of conditions. The system further includes a noise signal generator for generating a noise signal in response to the address signal, the noise signal corresponding to the noise value associated with the current set of conditions so that the noise signal is representative of the ambient noise level.
Abstract:
A reusable, durable, lawn and garden bagger for the easy collection and transportation of a quantity of loose debris such as leaves and grass clippings, for example. The bagger provides a collapsible container which provides an enlarged opening when secured in the fully open position, and wherethrough loose debris is deposited with a garden tool such as a rake, for example. Handle means are provided at both ends of the container whereby a worker may pull the full container along the ground by the front handle means, and subsequently dump the debris from the container by lifting upwardly on the back handle means.
Abstract:
A carburetor situated on an intake manifold of an engine is shown having an induction passage with a choke valve therein mounted on a choke shaft which in turn has a choke control lever; a thermostatic control situated on a different portion of the intake manifold is operatively connected to the choke control lever as through a rod linkage; a selectively adjustable retainer carried by the choke lever operatively engages the rod linkage; the retainer is adjustable to accommodate variations in the effective distance as between the choke lever and the thermostatic control to be spanned by the rod linkage.
Abstract:
A fuel metering device, such as a carburetor for a combustion engine, has a fuel bowl or fuel reservoir with a fuel vapor venting apparatus for, at times, venting such fuel vapors from the interior of the fuel reservoir to, for example, associated canister means. A resiliently deflectable valve member carried as by a stem of an associated solenoid assembly serves to open and close related fuel vapor vent passages. When in one of its operating positions, the valve member is effective for opening a vent passage leading to an associated canister and, when in another of its operating positions, the valve member is effective for opening a vent passage leading to a motive fluid induction passage leading to the associated combustion engine.
Abstract:
An electronic bait box assembly for storing earthworms includes a box for containing earth and earthworms. A lid is removably attached to the box for closing the box. A voltage unit is coupled to the bait box and the voltage unit is in electrical communication with an interior of the box. Moreover, the voltage unit is placed in electrical communication with the earth that is positioned in the box. The voltage unit induces an electrical voltage through the earth when the voltage unit is turned on. In this way the voltage unit urges the earthworms to move upwardly in the earth thereby facilitating a user to remove the earthworms for fishing bait.
