摘要: Aspects of a method and system for matching and repairing network configuration are provided. In this regard, one or more circuits and/or processors may be operable to determine a configuration of one or more parameters in a plurality of devices along a network path, and detect whether any of the one or more parameters are configured such that communication between the plurality of devices is disabled and/or suboptimal. The devices may comprise at least one server and one or more of a network switch, a network bridge, and a router. In instances that one or more parameters are incompatibly or sub-optimally configured, a notification of the incompatibility may be communicated to a network management entity and/or one or more messages may be generated to reconfigure the one or more parameters in one or more of the plurality of devices. The determining and/or detecting may be performed automatically in response to various events.

摘要: Certain aspects of a method and system for network configuration and/or provisioning based on open virtualization format (OVF) metadata may include accessing a set of port profiles for one or more virtual machines from a port profile database based on OVF metadata. One or more virtual machines may be configured, deployed, and/or managed based on the accessed set of port profiles. One or both of a uniform resource identifier (URI) to the profile data base and/or a port profile identification may be included in the OVF metadata to allow a virtual machine (VM) administrator device to access the set of port profiles for the one or more virtual machines from the port profile database. Alternatively, the set of port profiles may be included in the OVF metadata to allow the VM administrator device to access the set of port profiles for the one or more virtual machines from the port profile database.

摘要: A method for providing TCP/IP offload may include receiving control of at least a portion of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) connection variables by a TCP/IP Offload Engine operatively coupled to a host. The at least a portion of the TCP/IP Offload Engine connection variables may be updated and provided to the host. The TCP/IP Offload Engine may receive control of segment-variant TCP connection variables. The TCP/IP Offload Engine may update the received TCP segment-variant TCP connection variables, and communicate the updated TCP segment-variant TCP connection variables to the host. A system for providing connection offload may include a TCP/IP Offload Engine that receives control of state information for a particular connection offloaded to a network interface card (NIC). Control of the state information for the particular connection may be split between the NIC and a host.

摘要: Systems and methods for load balancing and/or fail over are provided. In one embodiment, a server system may include, for example, one or more of the following: a first network interface card (NIC); a second NIC having same layer-3 (L3) address as the first NIC; a first network switch coupled to the first NIC, the first network switch receiving an incoming traffic flow destined for the second NIC; and a second network switch coupled to the second NIC and coupled to the first network switch. The first network switch may determine, for example, whether the incoming traffic flow is destined for the first NIC or is destined for the second network switch.

摘要: Systems and methods that handle transport protocol segments (TPSes) are provided. In one embodiment, a system may include, for example, a receiver that may receive an incoming TPS. The incoming TPS may include, for example, an aligned upper layer protocol (ULP) header and a complete ULP data unit (ULPDU). The receiver may directly place the complete ULPDU into a host memory.

摘要: Certain embodiments of the invention may be found in a method and system for performing SCSI read operations with a CRC via a TCP offload engine. Aspects of the method may comprise receiving an iSCSI read command from an initiator. Data may be fetched from a buffer based on the received iSCSI read command. The fetched data may be zero copied from the buffer to the initiator and a TCP sequence may be retransmitted to the initiator. A digest value may be calculated, which may be communicated to the initiator. An accumulated digest value stored in a temporary buffer may be utilized to calculate a final digest value, if the buffer is posted. The retransmitted TCP sequence may be processed and the fetched data may be zero copied into an iSCSI buffer, if the buffer is posted. The calculated final digest value may be communicated to the initiator.
