The invention relates to a slide bearing material comprising a metallic supporting layer and a metallic lead-free bearing layer consisting of densely sintered powder particles of tin bronze with bismuth additives. The aim of the invention is to create a lead-free slide bearing material with nevertheless good tribological properties and a high bearing capacity. To this end, the bearing metallic layer is formed from a sintering powder consisting of powder particles containing between 9.5 and 11 wt. % of tin and between 7 and 13 wt. % of bismuth and copper. The powder particles have a nobular form deviating from the regular spherical form but without edges and undercuts.

In order to simplify handling of the plain bearing shell during assembly, the bearing shell is formed in such a way that the holding projection merges continuously into one separating surface of the plain bearing shell, and is formed by a stamping tool from the outside of the plain bearing shell by an approach in which, in the region of the separating surface, the stamping tool compressively deforms the material on the outside of the plain bearing shell, essentially tangentially relative to the plain bearing shell and toward the separating surface, while a counter-holding mechanism is applied to the separating surface, to which mechanism the formed material of the holding projection extends.

The bushing is cut in the form of a longitudinal section from a continuously cast pipe, whose exterior has been previously machined and can be used without being subjected to a forging process following the cutting operation.

A friction bearing composite material comprises a metal base layer, a porous support layer applied thereto, and a low friction layer made from PTFE forming a bearing surface for a bearing partner. The low friction material forming the sliding surface also fills the pores in the support layer and comprises at least 60 vol. % PTFE and 10-25 vol. % zinc sulphide. In order to achieve a high wear resistance with a low coefficient of friction, the low friction material further comprises 1.5-3.5 vol. % carbon fibers and 1-7 vol. % PFA.

The invention relates to a plain bearing composite material comprising a steel carrier layer and a bearing coating which is applied to the carrier layer in such a way that it cannot be removed and consists of lead-free aluminium bearing alloy consisting of between 4.4 and 6 wt. % of zinc, between 2.5 and 6 wt % of bismuth, between 1 and 2 wt. % of silicon, between 0.8 and 1.2 wt. % of copper and between 0.2 and 0.8 wt. % of magnesium, optionally a maximum of 0.2 wt. % each of titanium, nickel, manganese, and tin, optionally a maximum of 0.6 wt. % of iron, and also optionally respectively a maximum of 0.1 wt. % of impurity related additives, the total quantity thereof not amounting to more than 1 wt. % of the sum of the constituents. The aluminium bearing alloy forms an aluminium solid solution supersaturated with zinc, said zinc being finely distributed by solution annealing and subsequent chilling.

To achieve good tribological properties, it is suggested that the zinc matrix of the running layer contains 1 to 49 wt.-% bismuth as an additional alloy element.
