The apparatus includes a first differential operatively coupled to the main drive road wheels for receiving the drive power from the drive power source, a second differential operatively coupled to the auxiliary drive road wheels and having clutch means for variably adjusting the amounts of drive power to be transmitted to the auxiliary drive road wheels independently of each other, a drive power transmitting mechanism for transmitting the drive power from the drive power source via the first differential to the second differential, and a speed increasing device disposed in the drive power transmitting mechanism for varying the rotational speed of the drive power supplied from the drive power source.

    摘要: A vehicle steering control system for steering both front and rear wheels is so arranged that a transfer function between a driver's steering input and a front wheel steering angle, and a transfer function between the steering input and a rear wheel steering angle are differentiated from each other so as to obtain an optimum cornering characteristic of the vehicle. The system has a steering input sensor, a vehicle speed sensor, means for determining the transfer function for the front wheels from a steering frequency and a vehicle speed, means for determining the transfer function of the rear wheels, a front wheel actuator for steering the front wheels, and a rear wheel actuator for steering the rear wheels. The means for determining the transfer function of the rear wheels may be an electronic circuit, or a hydraulic fluid flow restrictor such as an orifice, or a mechanical gearing.

    摘要: A method of controlling an automotive vehicle is disclosed whereby a steering characteristic of the vehicle is automatically adjustable to a feature of the driver's steering the vehicle. The feature of the driver's steering the vehicle is detected in terms of a driver's technique or habit in manipulating a steering wheel or a motion characteristic of the vehicle such as a yaw rate or a lateral acceleration resulting from a driver's manipulating the steering wheel. A pair of steerable road wheels, such as a pair of front road wheels, are steered through an angle which is proportioned to an angle through which the steering wheel is manually turned at a ratio which is variable with variation in the feature of the driver's steering the vehicle.

The power cylinder and the actuator are supplied with hydraulic fluid under pressure through first and second control valves, respectively, to independently control the power steering control system and the vehicle control mechanism.     摘要: A control means for controlling actuators of a vehicle creates a time series of a future behavior of the vehicle using a vehicle model. A state amount of the vehicle model is initialized on the basis of a state amount of the vehicle, and the future behavior is created starting from the initial state amount. The future behavior is created such that operation commands of the actuators in the vehicle model at the current time coincide with or approximate basic values based on operation of a manipulating device, such as a steering wheel of the vehicle. It is evaluated whether vehicle motion, road surface reaction force, and wheel sliding, in the created future behavior satisfy predetermined restrictive conditions. Based on the evaluation result, the operation commands of the actuators are successively decided. This permits ideal travel of the vehicle to be achieved by properly predicting future behaviors of the vehicle.
