摘要: A delay which may take the form of a hydraulic flow restriction (either fixed or variable with a given parameter such as vehicle speed) or a suitable electronic delay circuit, is interposed between a device which outputs a signal indicative of the front wheels being steered and a device which is operatively connected with the rear wheels and which varies the orientation of the rear wheels in a manner to "steer" same in response to the signal to control the yawing of the vehicle.

摘要: An actively controlled suspension system has two hydraulic systems for generating damping force against the vibration to be transmitted between a vehicle body and a suspension member. One of the hydraulic systems is designed for absorbing relatively high frequency vibration generally input from the suspension member for preventing vibration from the suspension member from being transmitted to the vehicle body. The other hydraulic system is active on relatively low frequency of vibration generally input from the vehicle body upon change of attitude of the vehicle body. The other hydraulic system generates a fluid pressure suppressing the attitude change. A pressure control valve and a fluid pressure source may be incorporated in the second hydraulic system so that they may not be active when aforementioned one of the hydraulic system is active.

摘要: A vehicle axle suspension system including wheel support members for rotatably supporting road wheels, a suspension member for supporting the road wheel support members for vertical swinging movement, and elastic suspension elements. The elastic suspension elements include a pair of front elastic suspension elements provided at different suspension points in front of the road wheel support members for elastically mounting the suspension member to the vehicle and a pair of rear elastic suspension elements provided at different suspension points behind the road wheel support members for elastically mounting the suspension member to the vehicle. The elastic suspension elements are positioned to provide an understeer characteristic when a lateral force acts on a suspension roll center determined by suspension geometry to rotate the suspension member around a virtual roll axis extending through an elastic center of the front elastic suspension elements and an elastic center of the rear elastic suspension elements.

摘要: An active suspension system is provided which includes hydraulic cylinders for suppressing rolling motion of a vehicle body. The system is responsive to lateral acceleration acting on the vehicle body to provide a control signal for supplying hydraulic pressure to the cylinders for anti-rolling control. The control signal includes first and second pressure control signals. The first pressure control signal commands supply of hydraulic pressure for providing an anti-rolling moment, while the second pressure control signal commands supply of hydraulic pressure for supporting a portion of the static load of the vehicle body to maintain the vehicle body at a target height level. The system is further responsive to increase in lateral acceleration to modify the second pressure control signal to reduce the hydraulic pressure for supporting the portion of static load, thereby compensating for forces acting to raise the vehicle body caused by the anti-rolling control for establishing a constant vehicular height level irrespective of variation in the lateral acceleration acting on the vehicle body.
