Abstract: An in-vehicle violence detection system includes a speech and non-speech audio recognition module capturing occupant threat words and non-speech audio events. In-vehicle accelerometers generate data analyzed in a shaking movement recognition module. A heart rate and breathing rate detection module measures physiological changes in occupant heart rates and breathing rhythms. An in-vehicle semantic scene recognition module analyzes occupant non-verbal interactions. Occupant threat indicators including an audible threat indicator are generated by the speech and non-speech audio event recognition module. Visual threat indicators are generated by the in-vehicle semantic scene recognition module. Physiological threat indicators are generated by the heart rate and breathing rate detection module. Vibration-based threat indicators are generated by the shaking movement recognition module. The four threat indicators are fused to estimate a threat level, consolidated by incorporating contextual information including a vehicle location and time. Different actions are taken based on the consolidated threat level.

The permissible route segment has a route characteristic of one or both of: a reduced likelihood of operator-required events occurring or a predicted workload for the operator that is less than a defined workload threshold.

Abstract: An embodiment of a smart notification device for a vehicle configured for autonomous driving, includes an occupant recognition unit configured to sense occupant state information of an occupant in the vehicle, a vehicle recognition unit configured to sense vehicle state information and driving information of the vehicle, a memory storing code, and a processor configured to access the memory and execute the code. The code can include instructions for the processor to collect the occupant state information, the vehicle state information, and the driving information, set a risk of collision based on the collected information, determine the set risk of collision based on a preset risk level, and generate a risk object corresponding the risk of collision. The device of an embodiment includes an augmented reality graphics system configured to project the risk object onto a glass of the vehicle based on a determination result obtained by the determining.

Abstract: An impairment analysis (“IA”) computer system for alerting a first driver of a first vehicle to a driving hazard posed by a second vehicle operated by a second driver is provided. The IA computer system is associated with the first vehicle, and includes at least one processor in communication with at least one memory device. The at least one processor is programmed to: (i) receive second vehicle data including second driver data and second vehicle condition data, where the second vehicle data is collected by a plurality of sensors included on the first vehicle; (ii) analyze the second vehicle data by applying a baseline model to the second vehicle data; (iii) determine that the second vehicle poses a driving hazard to the first vehicle based upon the analysis; and/or (iv) generate an alert signal based upon the determination that the second vehicle poses a driving hazard to the first vehicle.

Abstract: Systems and methods to authenticate a vehicle operator for an autonomous vehicle on a vehicle service platform are provided. In one example embodiment, a computer-implemented method includes obtaining authentication request data indicative of an authentication request, the authentication request data including at least an operator identifier associated with the vehicle operator and a vehicle identifier associated with the autonomous vehicle. The method includes providing a service code associated with the authentication request to the autonomous vehicle. The method includes obtaining from a user device in response to providing the service code to the autonomous vehicle, operator data associated with the authentication request, the operator data including the service code. The method includes determining an authentication result associated with the authentication request based at least in part on the service code and the operator data. The method includes providing the authentication result to the user device.
