Abstract:
A method of realizing a personal video recorder (PVR) using a home network device is provided. A client receives contents and replays the contents in a home network. The client uploads first contents received from a real time broadcasting channel to the server from a time when an external time-shift input is received, terminates the uploading of the first contents if an external replay input is received during the uploading of the first contents, replays the first contents whose uploading is terminated from a portion requested by the external replay input, and simultaneously uploads second contents to the server, received from the real time broadcasting channel at a time when the uploading of the first contents is terminated. A user can watch a live broadcast using a time-shift function such as a PVR via a home network device without a separate PVR.
Abstract:
A plasma display panel includes a first substrate and a second substrate, the first substrate and the second substrate being provided with a predetermined gap therebetween. Barrier ribs are formed in a non-striped pattern between the first substrate and the second substrate, the barrier ribs defining a plurality of discharge spaces. A plurality of address electrodes are formed on the first substrate along a direction (y), the address electrodes being formed within and outside discharge spaces. A plurality of sustain electrodes are formed on the second substrate along a direction (x), the sustain electrodes being formed within and outside discharge spaces. The address electrodes include large electrode portions provided within discharge spaces and small electrode portions provided outside the discharge spaces. If a width of large electrode portions is AW, a width of small electrode portions is Aw, and a distance between barrier ribs along direction (x) is D, AW is larger than Aw, and AW is 40–75% of D.
Abstract:
A compact multilayer band-pass filter using an interdigital capacitor which can be integrated into a compact form in a relatively low frequency band. The band-pass filter filters only a signal of a predetermined frequency band from a signal applied through an input terminal, and outputs a filtered signal to an output terminal. The band-pass filter includes at least one pair of transmission lines, respectively formed between the input terminal and the output terminal provided on an uppermost layer, for generating an inductor component, a capacitance compensation unit, with the interdigital capacitor having a plurality of layers, for loading a specified capacitance to one end of the transmission line, and a ground layer coupled to a specified layer of the capacitance compensation unit and the other end of the transmission line and formed on a lowermost layer.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for effectively performing optimal connection configuration by recognizing the connection status between a video device and external peripheral devices. The method for identifying predetermined peripheral devices connected to a video device over serial communication control lines, includes, transmitting a command to establish connection of a current peripheral device having no given device ID to its upper peripheral device among the predetermined peripheral devices, and transmitting a command to disconnect a connection to its lower peripheral device; requesting unique device identification information to the predetermined peripheral devices; receiving a response to the request from the current peripheral device; and giving a device ID to the current peripheral device.
Abstract:
An apparatus for cooling an electronic device includes a case where a plurality of air intake/exhaust holes through which air passes are formed. A plate type mobile member is installed to vibrate in the case and divides an inner space of the case into an upper space and a lower space. An elastic support film is fixed in the case to support the mobile member and has a bulged portion capable of being elastically deformed. A driving device is provided for vibrating the mobile member. By the vibration of the mobile member, air in the upper and lower spaces of the case is exchanged with outside air through the air intake/exhaust holes so that a heat source is cooled.
Abstract:
A CD-ROM interface device whereby a CD-ROM drive is easily interfaced with a personal computer (PC) using an enhanced parallel port (EPP) for the PC, includes signal buffer for buffering and outputting a reset signal, a first write signal, an address strobe signal, a data strobe signal, a wait signal, a status enable signal, a data enable signal, a status signal, and first and second data. A control signal generator means for generating a second write signal, a read signal and a wait signal from the first write signal, the address strobe signal, the data strobe signal, and an identification enable signal.
Abstract:
Provided is a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag including: a pattern layer which includes a first conductor having a pattern and an RFID chip electrically connected to the first conductor; an insulating layer which insulates the pattern layer from the radiation layer; a radiation layer which is attached to the insulating layer, and includes a second conductor having a radiation pattern inductively coupled to the first conductor; a lower protection layer disposed below a combination of the pattern layer, the insulating layer and the radiation layer; and an upper protection layer disposed above the combination of the pattern layer, the insulating layer and the radiation layer.
Abstract:
A multipath accessible semiconductor memory device having a mailbox area and a mailbox access control method thereof are provided. The semiconductor memory device includes N number of ports, at least one shared memory area allocated in a memory cell array, and N number of mailbox areas for message communication. The at least one shared memory area is operationally connected to the N number of ports, and is accessible through a plurality of data input/output lines to form a data access path between the at least one shared memory area and one port, having an access right to the at least one memory area, among the N number of ports. The N number of mailbox areas are provided in one-to-one correspondence with the N number of ports and are accessible through the plurality of data input/output lines when an address of a predetermined area of the at least one shared memory area is applied to the semiconductor memory device. An efficient layout of mailboxes and an efficient message access path can be obtained.
