    Abstract: The present application relates to improved methods of application instance registration in a Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) system, comprising, e.g.: receiving, at a MEC platform device, a registration request for a first application instance; determining, by the MEC platform device, that the first application instance is not presently registered; in response to determining that the first application instance is not presently registered, allocating, by the MEC platform device, a first application instance registration identifier for the first application instance; transmitting, by the MEC platform device, the first application instance registration identifier to the first application instance; and causing, by the MEC platform device, a first application instance registration notification to be sent to a MEC system-level management device. According to some aspects, the MEC platform device may first send a permission request to a MEC system-level management device to request permission to be able to register the first application instance.

    Abstract: An approach is described for a user equipment (UE) comprising a transceiver configured to enable wireless communication with a second UE and a wireless device and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor is configured receive, from the second UE, an end-to-end (E2E) quality of service (QoS) requirement of an E2E connection between the second UE and the wireless device, wherein the E2E connection includes a first hop between the UE and the second UE and a second hop between the UE and the wireless device. The processor is further configured to obtain a first hop link condition and a second hop link condition; split the E2E QoS requirement into a first hop QoS requirement and a second hop QoS requirement based on the first hop link condition and the second hop link condition; and transmit, using the transceiver, the first hop QoS requirement to the second UE. The wireless device is a third UE or a base station.
