    摘要： Methods and apparatuses for electrically connecting a medical glucose monitor to a glucose sensor set, as well as for testing the operation of the glucose monitor, monitor cable and glucose sensor set are provided. In one embodiment, an electric cable comprises a cable member, a first connector and a second connector. The cable member in turn comprises at least one insulated conductor, a conductive shielding layer disposed around the at least one insulated conductor; and an insulating layer disposed around the conductive shielding layer. A glucose monitoring system test plug provides for a releasable electrical connection with the electric cable. In one embodiment, the test plug comprises a housing and a fitting affixed thereto which is adapted to electrically couple the test plug with the electric cable. The test plug further includes an electrical circuit that produces a signal that is read by the glucose monitor to test the operational performance of the glucose monitor and the electric cable when the test plug is coupled to the electric cable and when the electric cable is coupled to the glucose monitor.

    摘要： A waveguide to waveguide coupled hybrid master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) includes a wavelength locked laser master oscillator (MO) first chip including a semiconductor substrate, a waveguide region having a gain section, one side of the MO including an integrated wavelength selective feedback element and the other side of the MO including an integrated reflective or coupling element on one side the waveguide and an emitting surface opposite the integrated reflective or coupling element for emitting light. A power amplifier (PA) second chip is stacked above or below the MO. The PA includes a semiconductor substrate including a waveguide region having a gain section, an integrated reflective or coupling element on a side of the PA aligned with light emitted from the emitting surface of the MO and a coupling grating or turning mirror and integrated lens on an opposite side of the PA for emitting an output beam.

    摘要： An office chair is provided having a contoured back assembly comprising a back frame and a suspension fabric. The fabric is attached to the back frame through a spline wherein the back frame has a three-dimensional contoured shape formed by overlapped frame rings with the fabric being joined thereto by a spline. The fabric is secured to the frame by a machine wherein the fabric is first stretched from the outer edge of the fabric and then is clamped to a frame surface in the pre-tensioned or pre-streched condition. The fabric edges are allowed to hang loose and then fixed in the frame by a spline. Once secured, the fabric is unclamped from the frame.

    摘要： In one embodiment of the present invention there is provided a method of filtering blood flow in a lumen by positioning an open loop filter support structure within a lumen; maintaining a position of the open loop filter support structure within the lumen using radial force generated by the open loop filter support structure; and filtering blood flow in the lumen using a filter supported by the open loop filter support structure. In one aspect, there is also applying radial force generated by the open loop filter support structure along the axial dimension of the lumen. In another embodiment of the present invention there is provided a method of providing a filter across a lumen flow path by providing a filter support structure having a first end, a crossover section, and a second end; and fixing the position of the filter support structure within the lumen by positioning the first end against a first portion of the lumen and positioning the second end against a second portion of the lumen; and using the filter support structure to provide a filter across the lumen flow path. In one aspect, the ends do not pierce the lumen surface.

    摘要： A catheter assembly for cannulating the coronary sinus of the heart includes a flexible, elongate shaft having a proximal end extending to a distal end. A central lumen and a secondary lumen extend through the shaft. The distal end is preformed with a first curved segment and a second curved segment extending distally from the first curved segment. A deflecting mechanism is positioned in the secondary lumen and is operable to deflect the first curved segment from a first configuration to a second configuration while allowing the second curved segment to remain in a first configuration. The deflecting mechanism may be a tensioning member fixed to the shaft and extending through the secondary lumen or a rigid member slidably received in the secondary lumen.
