摘要: Systems and methods for processing, transmitting and displaying data received from an analyte sensor, such as a glucose sensor, are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method for transmitting data between a first communication device associated with an analyte sensor and a second communication device configured to provide user access to sensor-related information comprises activating a transceiver of a first communication device associated with an analyte sensor at a first time. The method also includes establishing a two-way communication channel with the second communication device. The activating comprises waking the transceiver from a low power sleep mode using a forced wakeup from the second communication device.

摘要: A simple, disposable sensing device for sensing an analyte is housed in a single case. The sensing device can transmit sensor data to monitoring device(s). The sensing device includes: a case having a lower major wall adapted to be mounted against a patient's skin, and an upper opposing major wall; a sensor extending from the case and having a distal end sensitive to the analyte to produce an electrical signal, and a proximal end within the case having electrical contacts; a printed circuit board assembly within the case supported by one of the major walls to receive the electrical signal via the electrical contacts; and an elastomeric pad disposed in the case and biased by the other major wall to urge the proximal end of the sensor into contact with the printed circuit board assembly and maintain an electrical connection between the electrical contacts and the printed circuit board assembly.

摘要: A sensor assembly for sensing a physiological characteristic includes a power source, a power control switch, and a power latch configured to latch an output of the power control switch. The sensor assembly also includes a power converter coupled to the power control switch. The power converter is configured to step down a voltage of the latched output of the power control switch for delivery of the latched output to one or more components of the sensor assembly. The power control switch is configured to inhibit consumption of power from the power source when the sensor assembly is in a pre-deployment state and output the latched output to the power converter in response to transition of the sensor assembly from the pre-deployment state to a deployed state.

摘要: Medical devices configured for in vivo assays of one or more analytes can sometimes be problematic if left inserted in a tissue, such as skin, for an extended time. Certain medical device surface profiles may aid in alleviating this issue. Accordingly, medical devices may comprise a base surface having a tissue-facing surface profile defined thereon, and a sensor extending through the base surface and at least a portion of the tissue-facing surface profile. The tissue-facing surface profile deviates from the base surface, and the tissue-facing surface profile is also configured to undergo a change in shape, hardness, or a combination thereof after contacting a tissue for a length of time. A dynamic material may be present in at least a portion of the tissue-facing surface profile.

摘要: A continuous glucose monitoring system may utilize externally sourced information regarding the physiological state and ambient environment of its user for externally calibrating sensor glucose measurements. Externally sourced factory calibration information may be utilized, where the information is generated by comparing metrics obtained from the data used to generate the sensor's glucose sensing algorithm to similar data obtained from each batch of sensors to be used with the algorithm in the future. The output sensor glucose value of a glucose sensor may also be estimated by analytically optimizing input sensor signals to accurately correct for changes in sensitivity, run-in time, glucose current dips, and other variable sensor wear effects. Correction actors, fusion algorithms, EIS, and advanced ASICs may be used to implement the foregoing, thereby achieving the goal of improved accuracy and reliability without the need for blood-glucose calibration, and providing a calibration-free, or near calibration-free, sensor.

摘要: Systems and methods for processing sensor analyte data are disclosed, including initiating calibration, updating calibration, evaluating clinical acceptability of reference and sensor analyte data, and evaluating the quality of sensor calibration. The sensor can be calibrated using a calibration set of one or more matched sensor and reference analyte data pairs. Reference data resulting from benchtop testing an analyte sensor prior to its insertion can be used to provide initial calibration of the sensor data. Reference data from a short term continuous analyte sensor implanted in a user can be used to initially calibrate or update sensor data from a long term continuous analyte sensor.

摘要: An elastic physiological patch includes a patch assembly and an implant assembly. The patch assembly includes an electronic device, and a soft patch body defining a chamber for receiving the electronic device. The implant assembly is mountable to the electronic device and includes an implant which is capable of being driven to partially pass through the patch body and which is adapted to be implanted in the skin of a subject. The implant and the patch body cooperatively seal the chamber.
