    摘要: An RFID system provides opportunistic locationing of RFID tags and associated assets in environments where multiple tags are read from multiple readers. A radio frequency identification (RFID) system includes one or more location triggers and a first RFID reader coupled to the network having a first antenna associated therewith. The first reader is configured to read a first set of tag IDs from a first set of RFID tags within a first range of the first antenna. A second RFID reader is coupled to the network and has a second antenna associated therewith. The second RFID reader is configured to read a second set of tag IDs from a second set of RFID tags within a second range of the second antenna. An RF switch is coupled to the network and is configured to receive the first set of tag IDs and the second set of tag IDs from the first RFID reader and the second RFID reader. The RF switch is configured to reconcile the location of an asset having a particular tag ID when the particular tag ID is an element of both the first set of tag IDs and the second set of tag IDs.

A system includes a wearable RFID tag removably attached to the individual (e.g., on his/her wrist, or uniform), wherein the wearable RFID tag is configured to send data to one or more access ports positioned external to the environment (e.g., on a fire truck or other such vehicle). A locationing module is communicatively coupled to the access port and is configured to determine the location of the individual within the site based on the data acquired from the wearable RFID tag.

A switch cluster is made up of two or more wireless switches that each having an assigned number of licenses. Each of the wireless switches is configured to establish the switch cluster with the other wireless switches, and to verify the identity of each other wireless switch in the switch cluster during operation. License restrictions are enforced based upon a total number of licenses for the switch cluster so that the sum of the numbers of licenses assigned to the wireless switches in the cluster are available for use even if one or more of the other wireless switches in the cluster become unavailable.

The system also includes a call tag configured to communicate with the plurality of reference tags and to collect data regarding the communication with the plurality of reference tags. A positioning system is coupled to the wireless mesh network and configured to receive the first signal and the data collected by the call tag. A portable electronic device is configured to communicate with the wireless mesh network and configured to receive call tag location from the positioning system.

The active RF tag receives the locale message, processes the location-specific data conveyed in the locale message, and configures itself in accordance with the location-specific data to support operation using a selected wireless data communication scheme. The selected scheme is compliant with the operating requirements of the geographic operating region in which the active RF tag resides.

    摘要: Integrated switch systems and methods for locating ID tags are disclosed. One system includes an application, a plurality of different tag readers in communication with the ID tags, and an integrated switch configured to enable the application to receive tag information from the different tag readers. An integrated switch includes multiple reader adapters, an application adapter, and a virtualization core. The virtualization core is configured to provide a common interface between each tag reader and the application. One method includes receiving a first signal from a first tag reader and receiving a second signal from a second tag reader, the first and second signals having information related to first and second ID tags, respectively. The method also includes normalizing the first and second signals such that the signals are compatible with the application and transmitting an ID tag report based on the normalized first and/or second signal to the application.

A method of managing RF transmissions by the wireless devices is provided. The method involves the wireless device receiving keep-alive beacons during a first period of time. During this first period of time, the wireless device is operated in a transmit mode. During a second period of time that follows the first period of time, the wireless device receives no keep-alive beacons. During this second period of time, the wireless device is operated in a standby mode such that RF transmissions are disabled.
