Abstract:
An electrical system includes a printed circuit board with conductive traces formed thereon. An electrical connector includes an insulative base with an array of cells defined therein. Each cell receives and retains a conductive contact having a tail portion corresponding to the conductive traces. Soldering pre-forms are arranged between the conductive traces and the tail portions. A heat distributor includes a thermally conductive base plate positioned on the connector base and thermally conductive pins extending from the base plate. The base plate is positioned on the connector base with the pins inserted into the cells and thermally engaging selected contacts so as to create a homogenous heat transfer to/from the soldering pre-forms thereby eliminating heat stress among the soldering pre-forms

An electrical connection system for an optoelectronic socket comprises an optoelectronic socket (1), an OE package (2) assembled to the optoelectronic socket (1), and a circuit board (4). The optoelectronic socket (1) comprises a plurality of passageways (104) embedded with an optical member (12) respectively, and a number of electrical contacts. The OE package (2) comprises a plurality of lenses (20) located at bottom portion thereof and a plurality of electrical pads (22) located at peripheral of the bottom portion. Bottom end of the lens (20) of the OE package (2) are received in the passageway (104) and the electrical pads (22) contact with the electrical contacts (14). The optical member (12) is received in recess on upper face of the circuit board (4) and connects with a waveguide (40) positioned in the recess. The electrical contact is soldered to the circuit board.
Abstract:
An electrical connector includes an insulative housing defining a tongue plate, a first set of contacts disposed upon the tongue plate, a second set of contacts disposed upon the tongue plate, and an inner PCB retained in the housing. The inner PCB defines at least one input connecting portion, at least one output connecting portion electrically connected with the at least one input connecting portion, and a first soldering leg connecting with the at least one output connecting portion. At least one of the first set of contacts connect with the first soldering leg, and at least one of the second set of contacts connect with the at least one input connecting portion to share the first soldering leg for mounting onto the mother PCB.
Abstract:
An socket assembly (100) comprises an optical socket (1) and an IC package (5) assembled to the optical socket (1), the optical socket (1) comprises an insulative housing (4) with a plurality of passageways (4110), a plurality of optic members (3) received in the passageways (4110) and a plurality of electrical contacts (2) received in the insulative housing (1). The optic member (3) comprises a waveguide (31) and a lens (32) at the end of the waveguide (31), the IC package (5) comprises a plurality of lenses (510) located at the bottom portion (51) thereof and a plurality of electrical conducts (512) located at peripheral thereof, the lens (510) are received in the passageway (4110) and the electrical conducts (512) connect with the electrical contacts (2).
Abstract:
An LGA connector contact (30) includes a base (31), and a pair of spring arms (32) extending from the base. One of the spring arms includes an extending section (320), a connecting section (321), and a contacting section (322) adapted for engaging a contact pad of an IC package. The contacting section has an exterior side and an interior side, with a recess (323) on the exterior side of the contacting section around a middle portion of the contacting section so as to define at least a pair of contact regions (324) adjacent the recess. The LGA contacting portion is configured to have its contact regions electrically engage with un-oxidized portions of the IC package, thereby achieving an effective electrical connection between the LGA connector contact and the corresponding IC package pad.
Abstract:
A convertible stadium includes an exhibition area, a seating area and a plurality of roof support locations for supporting a movable or retractable roof assembly. The roof assembly includes a first major truss that spans a distance between a first and a second of the roof support locations and a second major truss that spans a distance between a third and a fourth of the roof support locations. Both of the first and second major trusses are preferably structurally configured as a tied arch, each of which has a generally convex upper portion and a lower portion that is adapted to assume gravity induced stresses within the trusses as tension. In order to keep the center of mass of the major trusses generally positioned within a plane including the roof support locations, which optimizes lateral stability of the major trusses, the major trusses are most preferably given a lenticular shape, meaning that the lower portion of the trusses is convex and in fact preferably generally symmetrical to the upper portion. First and second convex guide tracks are respectively mounted to the upper portions of the first and second major trusses, and a movable roof member is mounted for movement along the guide tracks. Advantageously, the guide wheels and the drive wheels on the movable roof member engage the upwardly facing and downwardly facing surfaces on the guide tracks, and are biased together so as to provide sufficient traction to be able to move the movable roof member along the guide tracks even when such movement has an upward component due to the convex shape of the guide tracks.
Abstract:
A convertible stadium includes an exhibition area, a seating area and an outer sidewall in which is defined in large opening, preferably located so as to provide favorable outdoor views to the occupants of the stadium. A movable wall member is advantageously position so as to be able to open or close the large opening. When the movable wall member is in a first, retracted position spectators will be provided with a view of the outdoors and a great deal of outdoor air and sunlight. When outdoor conditions are unfavorable for an intended event within the stadium, however, the movable wall member may be repositioned in order to partially or fully close the opening. Such unfavorable conditions may include undesirable sun position, an undesirable amount of wind or humidity; or unfavorable temperatures. The movable wall member may be deployed in combination with a retractable roof in an otherwise indoor stadium, resulting in a convertible stadium that may be converted to have a true outdoor feel during favorable weather conditions.
Abstract:
A convertible public exhibition facility includes a stadium having an exhibition area and a seating area that is situated about the exhibition area for permitting spectators to view activities taking place in the exhibition area. The exhibition facility further includes a movable natural grass activity platform that has a surface area of natural grass that is at least 10,000 square feet and that is constructed so as to have a characteristic frequency of at least 6 Hz. Situated within the natural grass activity platform is a transport mechanism that is constructed and arranged so as to be able to move the natural grass activity platform as a complete unit from a location that is outside of the stadium to a location that is within the exhibition area. Preferably, the location that is outside of the stadium is an outdoor location that provides optimal conditions for the growth of natural grass.
