摘要： An ink system for use in an inkjet printing apparatus includes an inkjet printhead, a supply subtank for containing a supply of an ink to the inkjet printhead, and a return subtank for containing a surplus of the ink not used by the inkjet printhead. A first fluid path couples the supply subtank with the inkjet printhead and with the return subtank, and provides a flow of ink from the supply subtank to the inkjet printhead and to the return subtank. A second fluid path couples the return subtank with the supply subtank and feeds the ink from the return subtank back to the supply subtank. The ink system is characterised by having the supply subtank, the return subtank and the first fluid path supported on a carriage for reciprocating together with the inkjet printhead across the printing medium.

摘要： A method for thermally processing a sheet of a thermographic material provides good flatness and dimensional stability together with a high optical homogeneity. The method incorporates the steps of supplying a sheet of thermographic material m (1) to a thermal processor (10) having a processing chamber (12), heating the processing chamber to a predetermined processing temperature, and transporting the sheet of thermographic material through the processing chamber in a sinuous way (4). This transporting is carried out by a first drivable belt (21), a second drivable belt (22) and backing means (27).

摘要： Apparatus for processing photographic sheet material including at least two rollers which are rotatively supported on corresponding shafts and biased together by springs acting on one of the shafts is provided with a mechanism operable to separate the rollers. The mechanism consists of a cam carried in normally free-wheeling relation on at least one end of one of the shafts, a cooperating cam follower carried on at least one end of the other shaft and a clutch that can be actuated to engage each such cam on its shaft for temporary rotation therewith to thereby displace the cam into contact with a cam follower and bring about separation of the roller shafts and the rollers supported thereon. The ends of the shaft acted on by the springs is preferably journaled in bearing blocks arranged in a frame for sliding movement towards and away from the other shaft and biased by the springs toward the other shaft. Preferably, the clutch is a one-way clutch that permits free rotation of the cam when the one shaft is rotating in one direction and engages to rotate the cam with the shaft when the shaft is caused to rotate in the other direction. Each cam is held in a given position relative to the frame when free-wheeling on its shaft by a detent abutting against a part of the frame.

摘要： A receiver table (1) is provided for holding a receiver in a digital printer using a shuttle (2) carrying the printheads (3), e.g. an ink-jet printer, which is divided in small table segments (5) of which height and orientation can be adjusted. By adjusting the segments (5) the table (1) can be deformed to obtain a constant receiver-printhead distance even if the guidance of the shuttle (2) has deviations or exhibits bending during shuttling. Table segments (5) are preferably mounted on a deformable table support (13). The receiver-printhead “throw distance” can be calibrated by measuring the distance profile and adjusting adjustments screws or bolts to align the table segments (5) to the ideal printing distance.

The functional elements include, for example, a feed outlet for feeding ink to the print head, a supply inlet for supplying ink to the ink chamber, an ink movement damper, an ink level sensor, a vacuum inlet to extract air from the ink chamber, and a re-flow inlet to allow re-flow of air bubbles from the print head to the ink chamber.
