摘要： A method for processing scanned image data, executed at least in part by a computer system, obtains scanned image data, obtains a predetermined image quality profile that has one or more image quality requirement values, and generates processed image data by applying one or more image processing operations to the image data in accordance with a processing script. The method calculates image quality metrics from the processed image data and compares the calculated image quality metrics to the one or more image quality requirement values from the predetermined quality profile. Results of the image quality comparison are displayed.

摘要： A method for producing an assured image from image data that is transferred from a first entity to a second entity acquires image data, transfers the acquired image data from the first entity to the second entity, forms secure assurance data according to image quality measurements obtained from the acquired image data, and forms an assured image that includes the acquired image data and the secure assurance data. At least one image quality message is generated that indicates the transfer of the acquired image data from the first entity to the second entity and is representative of the image quality measurements. The at least one image quality message is presented to at least one of the first entity and the second entity.

摘要： A highly secure personal identification badge is achieved by having an area which contains machine readable information and also having a printed region having embedded data in the image printed thereon. A method of producing the identification badge, includes the steps of: forming a digital image of the badge holder; generating an array of random numbers using a random number generator that employs a seed value; adding the array of random numbers to the digital image to produce a modified digital image; and printing the modified digital image on the identification badge. The badge is authenticated by scanning the image on the identification badge to produce a recovered digital image; and correlating the array of random numbers with the recovered digital image to produce a validity check of the identification badge.

摘要： A highly secure personal identification related document is achieved by having an area which contains machine readable information and also having a printed region having embedded data in the image printed thereon. The machine readable information as recorded has been encoded using a secure hash algorithm. For legitimate personal identification related documents, the machine readable data and the embedded data are identical information. The personal identification related document is used in conjunction with a reader system which includes a reader for the machine readable data, an optical scanner for scanning the image and data embedded therein, and a processor. The machine readable data is delivered to the processor which applies the secure hash algorithm thereto to generate a first data set. The digitized image data retrieved with the optical scanner is also delivered to the processor and the embedded data is retrieved therefrom to generate a second data set. The two data streams are then passed to a comparator to determine if there is an adequate match to verify authenticity of the document.
