Abstract:
Provided herein are herbicidal compositions comprising a mixture comprising (a) the choline salt of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D-choline), (b) a salt of N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine (glyphosate), and (c) a salt of 2-amino-4-(hydroxymethylphosphinyl)-butanoic acid (glufosinate). The compositions provide synergistic weed control of undesirable vegetation and improved crop tolerance in 2,4-D-, glyphosate- and glufosinate-tolerant soybeans, corn, or cotton. The compositions also provide synergistic weed control of undesirable vegetation in areas including, but not limited to, non-crop, perennial crop, fruiting crop, and plantation crop areas.

Abstract:
The subject invention relates in part to the control of AAD-12 and/or AAD-13 dicot volunteers in fields planted with monocot crops such as corn. The dicots can include soybeans and cotton.
Abstract:
This disclosure concerns the use of endogenous plant RNAi machinery to preferentially or specifically reduce transgene expression. In some embodiments, the disclosure concerns specific reduction of transgene expression in male plant tissues, for example, to provide an economical male sterility system of hybrid seed production.
Abstract:
Cotton event pDAB4468.19.10.3 comprises genes encoding AAD-12 and PAT, affording herbicide tolerance to cotton crops containing the event, and enabling methods for crop protection.
Abstract:
Provided are constructs and methods for expressing multiple genes in plant cells and/or plant tissues. The constructs provided comprise at least one bidirectional promoter link to multiple gene expression cassettes. In some embodiments, the constructs and methods provided employ a bidirectional promoter based on a minimal core promoter element from a Zea mays Ubiquitin-1 aerie or a functional equivalent thereof. In some embodiments, the constructs and methods provided allow expression of genes between three and twenty.

Provided are constructs and methods for expressing multiple genes in plant cells and/or plant tissues. The constructs provided comprise at least one bi-directional promoter linked to multiple gene expression cassettes, wherein the bi-directional promoter comprises a functional promoter nucleotide sequence from Sugar Cane Bacilliform Virus promoter. In some embodiments, the constructs and methods provided employs a bi-directional promoter based on a minimal core promoter element from a Zea mays Ubiquitin-1 gene, or a functional equivalent thereof, and nucleotide sequence elements from a Sugar Cane Bacilliform Virus promoter. In some embodiments, the constructs and methods provided allow expression of genes between three and twenty.

Abstract:
The subject invention provides novel plants that are not only resistant to 2,4-D, but also to pyridyloxyacetate herbicides. Heretofore, there was no expectation or suggestion that a plant with both of these advantageous properties could be produced by the introduction of a single gene. The subject invention also includes plants that produce one or more enzymes of the subject invention “stacked” together with one or more other herbicide resistance genes. The subject invention enables novel combinations of herbicides to be used in new ways. Furthermore, the subject invention provides novel methods of preventing the development of, and controlling, strains of weeds that are resistant to one or more herbicides such as glyphosate. The preferred enzyme and gene for use according to the subject invention are referred to herein as AAD-12 (AryloxyAlkanoate Dioxygenase). This highly novel discovery is the basis of significant herbicide tolerant crop trait and selectable marker opportunities.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for determining the number of kernels on a sample cob are provided. In one embodiment, an image including a front region of the sample cob, and a back region of the sample cob displayed in at least one reflective surface are provided to an image processor that identifies the presence of kernels in the image and determines the number of kernels based on the identified presence of kernels in the image.
