Abstract:
A cooling device for removing heat from subcutaneous lipid-rich cells of a subject having skin is provided. The cooling device includes a support having a first portion and a second portion. A first cooling element having a first heat exchanging surface is located at the first portion of the support. A second cooling element having a second heat exchanging surface is located at the second portion of the support. At least one of the first and second cooling elements is movable along the support and is configured to rotate for adjusting an angle between the first and second heat exchanging surfaces.
Abstract:
A spacer device for spinal fixation, such as in corpectomies and discectomies, includes a core and two end plates mounted to the core. One end plate is mounted to each respective end of the core. The core can be configured and adapted to be adjustable to allow for contraction and/or distraction of the end plates. The end plates can include apertures therethrough to facilitate osseointegration of the spacer device within a patient's spine. The angle of the endplates can each be adjusted with respect to the core of the spacer device, for example to accommodate lordosis. A containment mesh is included around the spacer device, wrapping circumferentially around the end plates, and spanning from end plate to end plate. The containment mesh defines a containment volume between the end plates for containing bone replacement materials such as allograft or man-made materials.
Abstract:
A computer system and method for capture, managing and presenting data obtained from various often unrelated postings via the Internet for examination by a user. This system includes a scraping module having one or more scraping engines operable to scrape information data sets from listings on the corporate sites and web sites, direct feeds, and other sources, wherein the scraping module receives and stores the scraped listing information data sets in a database. The system also has a management platform coordinating all operation of and communication between the sources, system administrators and processing modules. The processing modules in the platform include scraping management module analyzing selected scraped data stored in the database, and a categorization module that examines and categorizes each data set stored in the database into one or more of a predetermined set of categories and returns categorized data sets to the database.

Abstract:
A method and system of data acquisition by a listing service provider is disclosed. A network address is received from a client computer that is operated by a lister. The network address can be indicative of a location of listing data on a computer network. The listing data comprises at least one information item provided by the lister. The network address received from the lister is accessed by opening a computer network connection to retrieve the listing data. The lister makes available the listing data for retrieval so that the listing data can be posted in a search bank hosted by the listing service provider. The listing data is retrieved from the network address using the computer network connection by copying the listing data onto a listing data database.
Abstract:
A system and method of providing listing data administration to a lister user is disclosed. The listing data is posted on a web search bank hosted by a listing administration provider. Furthermore, the listing data is posted with an assigned hyperlink that references a lister user website hosted by a lister user web server. A selection token is transmitted to the lister web server when an end user selects the assigned hyperlink. An action token is received from the lister web server. The action token can include end user activity data that represents actions performed by the end user at the lister website.

Abstract:
A system and method for scanning for an object within a region using a conformal scanning scheme. The system may comprise a computer which includes a CPU and a memory medium which is operable to store one or more programs executable by the CPU to perform the method. The method may: 1) determine the characteristic geometry of the region; 2) generate a conformal scanning curve based on the characteristic geometry of the region by performing a conformal mapping between the characteristic geometry and a first scanning curve to generate the conformal scanning curve, i.e., mapping points of the first scanning curve to the characteristic geometry of the region; and 3) scan the region using the conformal scanning curve. These measurements of the region produce data indicative of one or more characteristics of the object. The method may also generate output indicating the one or more characteristics of the object.
