摘要: The invention is a system for transmitting data through downhole environments comprising a downhole network integrated into a downhole tool string. The downhole tool string comprises a plurality of downhole components. Each downhole component also comprises a conductor intermediate and operably connected to mating communication elements proximate the ends of the downhole component. The mating communication elements comprise magnetically conductive portions with different curie temperatures. The magnetically conductive portion may comprise segments or solid portions adapted to operate in the harsh downhole environments with temperatures ranging from 25 C to 275 C. Each downhole component is selected from the group consisting of drill pipes, drill collars, bottom hole assemblies, reamers, jars and/or production pipes.

摘要: A method of responding to an anomalous change in downhole pressure in a bore hole comprises detecting the anomalous change in downhole pressure, sending a signal along the segmented electromagnetic transmission path, receiving the signal, and performing a automated response. The anomalous change in downhole pressure is detected at a first location along a segmented electromagnetic transmission path, and the segmented electromagnetic transmission path is integrated into the tool string. The signal is received by at least one receiver in communication with the segmented electromagnetic transmission path. The automated response is performed along the tool string. Disclosed is an apparatus for responding to an anomalous change in downhole pressure in a downhole tool string, comprising a segmented electromagnetic transmission path connecting one or more receivers and at least one pressure sensor.

摘要: An apparatus has a downhole tubular body having a bore with a central axis. An electrical conductor assembly is disposed within the bore of the tubular component, the assembly having a first end, a second end, a first conductor, and a second conductor electrically isolated from the first conductor. At least one end of the assembly has a polished mating surface which has an electrically conductive portion surrounded by a dielectric material. The electrically conductive portion is in electrical communication with the first conductor. The first and second ends of the electrical conductor assembly are substantially aligned to the central axis of the bore by stabilizing elements within the bore.

摘要: A vertical milling apparatus for a paved surface has a rotary degradation element which has a top end connected to a carrier. The carrier is slideably attached to an underside of a motorized vehicle, and adapted to traverse the paved surface. The rotary degradation element has an axis of rotation and a plurality of inserts secured to the element's outer surface. At least one insert has a superhard working surface positioned to contact the paved surface.

摘要: In one aspects of the present invention, an induction resistivity tool incorporated into a downhole tool string comprises a downhole tool string component comprising a mid-body intermediate first and second tool joints adapted for connection to adjacent tool string components. The mid-body comprises a central bore formed within a tubular wall of the component, the tubular wall comprising an inner and outer diameter. At least one annular radial recess is formed in the outer diameter of the mid-body and comprises a coil adapted to transceive induction signals outwardly from the mid-body, and at least one flexible ring of magnetically conducting material is disposed intermediate the coil and a surface of the recess and arranged within the annular radial recess such that it filters a range of frequencies of the induction signals.

摘要: A multi-use exercise equipment anchor system adapted for removably mounting in a tubular receptacle disposed in line with a vehicle's chassis or frame. The tubular receptacle may be disposed along the chassis' center line or offset parallel to the chassis' center line. The equipment anchor may comprise a tubular comprising a first end portion angularly joined to a second end portion. The first end portion being at least partially inserted into the tubular receptacle and the second end portion extending from the receptacle and diagonally descending away from the receptacle to a point adjacent the surface on which the vehicle resides. The second end portion may comprise openings and other means for attaching exercise equipment such as elastic bands, a battle rope, or a landmine to the equipment anchor. The anchor may comprise a tubular comprising a square cross section, a rectangular cross section, or a circular cross section.

摘要: The health monitoring toilet system includes an extendable, retractable, and rotatable wand with sensors on the head section. The sensors may include a variety of cameras and gas sensors for inspecting a user's urogenital, perineal, and anal region for health assessment. The wand may comprise a bidet wand. The bidet wand may also dispense cleansing and therapeutic substances. The toilet system may include a controller which may store the sensor readings as well as protocols for moving the wand to acquire optimal sensor readings. The controller may be accessible by a healthcare provider for diagnostic and treatment purposes. The toilet system may identify each user to store sensor reading acquired for different users in the controller.

Methods of operating a solar powered window covering are also disclosed. The methods generally include detecting a tilt of at least one window covering slat. The slat includes one or more PV cells disposed in sliding tracks in the slat, and the tilt indicates an amount of sunlight incident on the cells. The methods also include sliding the PV cells in the tracks with regard to the amount of sunlight incident on the cells.
