摘要: The electrokinetic methotrexate delivery system includes at least one applicator having a multiplicity of non-conductive micro-needles carried on a non-conductive surface of the applicator. The opposite surface is formed of electrically conductive material for contact with an active electrode. The applicator includes a matrix containing a medicament, e.g., methotrexate, or a carrier therefor between the opposite surfaces. When the applicator is applied to the individual's skin with the micro-needles penetrating the skin, an electrical current is completed through the power source, the active electrode, methotrexate, or electrically conductive carrier therefor, the targeted treatment site, the individual's body, a ground electrode and the power supply, thereby electokinetically driving the medicament through the non-conductive micro-needles into the targeted treatment site.

摘要: An applicator for a device for electrokinetic delivery of medicament to a treatment site includes an applicator head having an active electrode, a matrix, and a medicament or a medicament and an electrically conductive carrier, carried by the matrix in electrical contact with the electrode. The cartridge includes a plurality of raised projections allowing the matrix and head to be ultrasonically welded one to the other. The electrode opens through a face of the head remote from the matrix for connection with an electrical connector carried by the device. A lid overlies the matrix and is releasably attached to a margin of the head. The lid includes layers of different materials with one of the layers formed of a metallic material having a discontinued interface with the lid and a tab carried by the lid.

摘要: The corrosion and fouling of metal surfaces in contact with corrosive acid fluids or acid salts in the presence of an aqueous medium is reduced by contacting the surfaces with a composition which comprises (a) an anti-fouling amount of a hydroxyl amine compound of the formulaR.sub.1 R.sub.2 N--OHwherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently hydrogen or a hydrocarbyl or inertly substituted hydrocarbyl or both R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are collectively a divalent hydrocarbyl combined with said nitrogen to form a heterocyclic ring, and (b) a corrosion-inhibiting amount of a reaction product of or a mixture for the purpose of a reaction product of a polyalkylene polyamine and an alkynediol. The polyalkylene polyamine is one that contains from 2-10 amine groups, each separated from another by an alkylene group having from 2-6 carbon atoms. The alkynediol has from 2 to 6 carbon atoms.

摘要: A method for authorising a remote transaction comprises receiving a request to complete a remote transaction from a remote user, for example over the Internet. A telephone number of a telephone, in particular a mobile telephone, associated with the remote user is identified in a database. A subscriber identity associated with the telephone number is requested from a telephone network operator associated with the identified telephone number. The subscriber identity received from the network operator is compared with a stored subscriber identity associated with the remote user. If the received subscriber identity matches the stored subscriber identity authentication information is communicated with the remote user via the telephone. If the received subscriber identity does not match the stored subscriber identity additional identifying information is requested from the remote user. The method has the advantage of preventing fraudulent authorisation of the transaction by a fraudster redirecting the telephone number to their own telephone.
